What exactly is a "Jahova's Witness"? I hear different stories all the time that conflict with each other. I am a Christian and just curious to what exactly a JW is ... Is there anyone out there who can help on this matter?

But the medical view however, is unequivocal...

In 1957, Hooker published a report called "The Adjustment of the Male Overt Homosexual." It showed that "homosexuals were not inherently abnormal and that there was no difference between homosexual and heterosexual men in terms of pathology." Dr. Hooker headed the Task Force on Homosexuality of the National Institute of Mental Health for many years. Johnson wrote:

"As a result of Hooker's finding, the American [Psychological Association]... removed homosexuality from its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Psychological Disorders in 1973. In 1975 it then released a public statement that homosexuality was not a mental disorder. In 1994, two decades later, the American Psychological Association finally stated, '...homosexuality is neither a mental illness nor a moral depravity. It is the way a portion of the population expresses human love and sexuality'."

Could it be possible that we created the earth and unverse like a computer program kinda like the matrix or 13th floor and choose to have experiences here. The big bang was the program booting up for the first time..I guess we all would be 'god' if he were schizophrenic j/k but kinda ...... :D Why is this experience so worth having....Maybe we have more worlds to create ;)

I saw a new book out at the book store. I think it is called misquoting Jesus or something like that. The author said the early scribes that coppied the Bible made mistakes and made up things. I know they didn't have copy machines a long time ago and scribes had to copy the Bible. This guy says, scribes made up the part where Jesus found an adultress and asked for the one without sin to throw the first stone. He said it is not in the original. Dose anyone know about this?

Everyday it looks the world is gettitng closer to the events of the third secret of Fatima. It will happen before this decade is over.
The secret is about God punishing the sins of the world with
World War 3. Many good and bad people will die. For a while it will seem as the devil has won, since Christianity will be completely destroyed. After some years, God will win out and he will usher in a time of peace.
How many agree?

Why bother proving God wrong if He doesn't exist? Why fight if there is nothing to fight about? Why not just let it all fall apart on it's own? So, is it worth it to fight about nothing, or is there really Something to fight about or against???

I have been noticing everytime I direct religious questions to fellow christians I recieve an overwhelming amount of responses from non believers. Why would they be so interested in answering questions directed at christians and involving God when they don't believe in God?

The answers should be a reason of THE HOPE [not the fear] that is in you.

As we are commanded "to overcome evil with good," may we not safely infer that God will do the same? (Rom. 12:21)

Would it be merciful in God to inflict endless punishment? -- that is, merciful to the sufferer?
Can that be just which is not merciful?
Do not cruelty and injustice go hand in hand?
Can that be merciful which is not just?
Does divine justice demand the infliction of pain from which mercy recoils?
If the demands of divine justice are opposed to the requirements of mercy, is not God divided against Himself?

Belief is also known as blind faith because often there is no evidence to support the belief except the man written bible/koran/etc and belief itself. Neither of which qualifies as proof to me.

Believers admit it themselves when they say we have faith. Notice they don't say we have facts.

Who would you be more likely to trust when it comes to life and death decisions or any advice in general? If you had the following two to choose from. An atheist doctor or a faith healing christian?

Before you say it, let me explain that atheists don't suffer from blind faith. We know that there is no such thing as gods. If there were definitive proof other than the two reasons explained above that there was anything supernatural in this world there would be no such thing as an atheist. Trust me when I say that if I would ever experience anything supernatural I would be the first to admit I was wrong. The problem is you can't prove things that are only supported by faith.

I work from home, so my neighbor appreciates it when I come visit her dog while she's at work (play with him for a little while, let him out, give him food). I've never had a dog, but this dog seems so happy to see me when I stop by during the day, and so sad and heartbroken when I leave 15 minutes later. I have to think the emotions and feelings this dog exhibits goes beyond both instincts and learned behavior. I think this dog has a soul just as truthful and deep as my own.

So do animals have souls? What happens when they die? Do animals have free-will? Or are animals no different from rocks? Should I stop eating burgers?

Truth isn't realised until personal experience creates your reality.I know everyone feels nice and content with their religions and whatnot. You feel loyal and belived for so long that its true and have had testimonies of its truth. But so has everyone else in their religions. They were all based upon mystic teachings and gnostic ideas. Possibly even shamanistic practices. Thats whatall these spiritual leaders were in to. If you want to know the truth it is easily found, the price to pay though is responsibility and it can be scary I know. But at least you will know. To know via experience is the building block to your awareness. God created the laws of science here. Look at quantum physics. We are nothing but vibrations and possibilities. Our freewill is sacred do not give it to a salesman. Your dreams are your creative power. You have the ability to change the world if you really knew it. The vibrations can and do change changing your reality, Question is, can you argue against this?

For me if some one tells me you must have faith , Thats the same as some one saying TRUST ME well we all know what happens when you trust some one,
so they use the word FAITH,to sell the 1500 year old story they brain washed the world with.
If your going to have FAITH in a story ,god also said It's your obligation to question EVERYTHING. so what's it gonna be?

I might be old-fashioned and believe the BIBLE is the WORD OF GOD, but even in my day-to-day life, I've never had anyone react the way they do on here.

I've been hurt by some of the responses. I only wish to HELP people, not hurt them or judge them. I don't single anyone out and I don't tell anyone they are going to hell. I just provide the tools for them to get to heaven if they want to use them.

Why do they still throw phrases of hate at me? I only love.

God bless you all!

I think that in college it is becoming "cool" and "hip" to be an atheist. If you ask most of these people to defend their beliefs, they don't have a clue. I am an atheist, but I'm constantly discouraged by people who claim to be atheists and launch weak attacks against anything they view as spiritual.
