isnt jesus the highest virtuest being so perfect trough all the collectives, that cannot be conceive to any man?ike superman!.
i mean yeah still fails of somekind of existence.
but there is something that we fail, when i was little child i always loved superman, even tho i knew that he never existed. what are we becoming if we belive in one?
how are we end up setting faith?

Doesn't this just neggate the idea that Christ did what man couldn't? If He died for our sins (including rejecting Him) then how could the church think that people could do ANYTHING AT ALL for their salvation? By doing something aren't you rejecting Gods Grace? Yea thanks God but I still think I can help you by doing these things and saying these words so that I will be saved; even though every covenant befor Christ proved otherwise.

We know that lust in any form and in any situation and circumstances
is a sin according to Christianity. Well, according to the epistles pre-marital sex is also a sin(so having sex without lust before marriage
is forbidden too). Sex is just for procreation(that implies the absence of lust) and not for enjoyment(if you don't have lust you won't enjoy
licking your wife's breast or sucking her mouth for nothing). Strictly
speaking you can marry a man or a woman but you can't lust after him or her. THIS DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. No personal whimsical interpretation please. In the gospels Jesus clearly said DO NOT LUST(He didn't mention that you can lust in certain circumstances).

I have been reading several answers to questions about the bible and how it explains the origin of the universe and mankind. I am a bit irritated at how people compare the bible to scientific evidence. Scientific evidence is based on observations that are repeatable. The bible is simply hearsay, basically what my forebearers said goes, without testing the validity of their "facts". So again, I ask, why do people call the stories in the bible fact?

Please mention how you can scientifically verify certain details of the bible, but not all. This is also important.

I defended gay rights on this forum a million times now. And lots of people 'accused' me of being gay. Most even use it in the manner of name-calling.

I also see lots of people offended if somebody thinks Jesus was gay.

i'm truly wondering: how can anybody be offended if somebody guesses about somebody else's sexual preference?

There was quite an uproar over taking the 10 commandments out of the courthouse based on seperation of church & state. One must ask supporters, Would you feel the same way about putting the Koran, a Torah or some other religious icon in the courthouse? Why do you assume that Christianity is the only religion represented in this country, or the world? Our forefathers saw religion build it's power here, as it had done in Europe, and knowing that the same religious persecution would follow, wisely made it the law of the land, that you could practice any religion you wanted, but you could not force others to live under your religious laws!

Yes when translating in to other languages some words dont translate they dont have words with the same meaning so they use a similar word.
Now think about 1500 years of translation and how confused it could be?
And thats just the honest mistakes and what about deliberate ones To manunipulate the people of the times to extract money from them.

Do Christians realize that telling an Atheist they are going to be judged by God and sent to hell is like an Atheist telling a Christian they are going to be judge by the tooth fairy and sent to Oz?

I have recieved many e-mails from Christians wanting to save me from hell. I don't understand why Christians can not understand I don't want to be saved and I don't believe in hell. I am not mad at god. Nothing bad has happened to me to make me a Atheist. And no, I am not looking for something to believe in. I have a strong belief in myself and that is all I need.

I am not trying to put down anyone for what they believe. I think we should all believe in whatever makes us happy. I am an Atheist and I am happy with what I believe, no saving needed. Thank you.

I realize this is a r/s section. I have an opinon on religion, I am educated about religion, I have read the bible, I have attended church. Just because I don't believe in God doesn't mean I can't discus it.
