If I adopt a child at birth, keep him on a deserted island his entire life, never tell him about religion, Jesus, etc., will he go to hell when he dies, according to Christianity?

I believe that if you claim you have a demonic possession, you are just in a state of mind where you're wrong-doings symbolize evil. There have been tests on people you are speaking in tongues and it showed that there is a part of their mind that stops working when they have a religious experience. The part that stops working is where your brain defines who you are as a person. Your qualities, traits, thoughts, values, are lost when it stops working. So really, you are no longer you and you become a different person acting out. Could this be the same with people claiming the devil has taken over them ? Could they think they are something or someone they are truly not when an exorcist is "removing" the "evil".

Is she really asking this questions cause she believes it, or is she trying to make fun of the hard-core right wing, soap box preaching, bible thumping, religious right? Can she really believe all this stuff?

Sorry, ranting, anyone else annoyed, voice it!

Not Peace but Division
49"I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed! 51Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. 52From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. 53They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law."?

I know some of my friends that are Christians but have never been to a church or hardly ever pray. Sometimes, I wish I can share how my life has changed for the better since knowing the Lord, but it's hard sharing that with them because it can feel like an uncomfortable subject.

I'm all for Christianity, really, I am. But I need to understand something.

God made the world in seven days, right?
If so, why did he rest?
He's God!!!
God doesn't need to rest. He's God.
That part doen't make sense to me.
Could someone explain?

The God of MOSES brought plagues upon the lands of Egypt for holding God's chosen people captive as slaves. We MUST eject these demons from the USA or we will be the victims of a new plague! How can we get these demons out of our country?!

Were we not founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Are we not the most holy of nations? If we can't fix our country, who can?!

How does that make sense? Also think about angels, demons and Lucifer. I'm not saying that they are all God, obviously, but all polytheism means is the belief in many deities. Demons, angels, and Lucifer are all immortal deities. You don't have to worship them or think they're gods, just believe they exist...

I personally find it disturbing that grown-ups could fall for a sci-fi writer / messiah that believes we come from shellfish, have million year old thetans inhabiting our bodies & that all mental disorders are a hoax of the psychiatric world.

But let me know what you think.

I promise not to sue you for your opinion:)

I've been given about a billion pamphlets and actually been told in person by some little girls from a church that jumped out of a van to tell me what it felt like to go to hell while I was walking down the sidewalk. Now does this really reach people or does it really just an annoyance? Who thinks these people should just be happy with the following they have and stop trying to convert so many people just because they think it's right. Next time it happens I might try to convert them to buddhism just for kicks.

Arent monks and those belonging to monastic orders more escapists than any thing else. Jesus said to go out and bring the many to the true faith and to help people but isent it counter productive and selfish to hole your self up in a cell and pray all day. This is not an attack on the faith i am a firm beliver.

PLEASE ONLY CATHOLICS!

Ecclesiastes 4:12
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Three strands meaning a marriage that includes God is stronger than a marriage without God.

In 1999, a *Christian* sociologist named George Barna published these results on divorce rate:

Born-again Christians - 27% are divorced or have been divorced
Other Christians - 24% are divorced or have been divorced
Atheists, Agnostics - 21% are divorced or have been divorced

Wow, it looks like the Bible is wrong, the very opposite of what it says is true! How do you explain this?

So much for "The family that prays together, stays together".

Case in point: many years ago I was at a Christian friend's house. Her parents didn't know my religious affiliation (or lack thereof) and preached about how imperative a good Christian background is for good morals. I didn't have the heart to tell them that their daughter (who considered herself a devout Christain as well) had divulged to me that she had stolen cars for fun, done all sorts of street drugs and lost her virginity toa 26 year old at the age of 13. Suffice it to say, I have done not one of these things and was not brought up in a religious household. I understand the phrase, "Christains are not perfect, just forgiven" but in her case...wow. Yes it's just one example but I have plenty more I don't think you want to be bored with.

As good christians, are we not obliged to call upon God to smite these heathens who are trying to take over this country? Is not the USA in TERRIBLE DANGER of being destroyed? We ARE the city of SODOM and GOMORAH! We MUST call for a removal of these wicked ones from our holy lands! Who will join me?!

Once a tight cabal of fundamentalists takes over any denomination, Christ's teachings go out the window. The reversal of Christianity from a religion of love to a religion of hate is the greatest religious tragedy of our time.

The Scroll and the Lamb
1Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. 2And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?" 3But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 4I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals."
6Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits[a] of God sent out into all the earth. 7He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9And they sang a new song:
"You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased men for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth."

11Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12In a loud voice they sang:
"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!"

13Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!" 14The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped.

For the athiest reading this,This really doesnt concern you,So your opinion doesnt matter. But anyways,Christians,The news about the middle east shouldnt be a surprise to us since god said that there will be "wars and rumours of wars" among the famine, pestilence, and increase wickedness in this world. These are the end times and let noone tell you different. With that being the case,How come some of the churches dont really get into the end time prophecies with its congregation since we already see evidence of the times we live in?

If you believe in God, you have chosen to reject Allah, Vishnu, Budda, Waheguru and all of the thousands of other gods that other people worship today. It is quite likely that you rejected these other gods without ever looking into their religions or reading their books. You simply absorbed the dominant faith in your home or in the society you grew up in. In the same way, the followers of all these other religions have chosen to reject God. You think their gods are imaginary, and they think your God is imaginary.

I contend that we are all atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

Does this make any sense?? Throw away the silly notion that only your way is the right way, and you MIGHT be able to see that your religion is no more "true" than any others...
