Jesus seems to be saying that the younger members of the family (the son, the daughter and the daughter-in-law) will be in conflict with the older members of the family (the father and mother). This is perhaps a metaphor for the idea that the doctrine of Jesus will come into confict with the followers of mainstream Judaism.

It's about how much Yeshua hates sin. We always say "Hate the sin and love the sinner" Sheez. We don't have what it takes to love the way he did so what makes us think we have the same capacity for indignation? Sin is loved by all. Xian and non-Xian. There is one difference, the Xian has this still small voice which reminds them how much God hates what their doing. That's called conviction which brings confession and repentance. The secular has only the conscience which at times will make them feel bad about something they did to someone or even themselves but it is not alive in the same manner as in the Xian.

How many times have you said DAMN, its those Jehovah's Witnesses at the door? So don't say you have love or patience for everyone, you don't. This also is what Christ was trying to explain.

He was saying that HIS true followers (WHATEVER RELIGION they ARE) would be "not loved by the world" but would be laughed at and persecuted. When someone found "his truth" they would have the family point out to them how "wrong" their belief was and how ashamed they were of them trying to get them to "disbelieve" as they did. He didn't mean by fighting physically, but by mentally abusing his sheep, by trying to "draw them away from him" with "I love you mom and I ONLY WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY, (then leave MOM ALONE)). But the family can't because instead of letting her be happy in christ, they would rather she be unhappy like them, AND YOU KNOW THIS, ALL OF YOU DO.

Also, there are 4, count them 4 kinds of LOVE in the Bible, from the original translations from ancient Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. These "loves" are Storge, Philio, Agape, and Eros.

Jesus does LOVE all mankind but only in PHILIO or the BROTHERLY LOVE and also AGAPE: Many have thought that this word represents divine, unconditional, self-sacrificing, active, volitional, thoughtful love. So he love you in a SELF-SACRIFICING, I'LL DIE FOR YOUR SINS KIND OF WAY!!!!
