I've been given about a billion pamphlets and actually been told in person by some little girls from a church that jumped out of a van to tell me what it felt like to go to hell while I was walking down the sidewalk. Now does this really reach people or does it really just an annoyance? Who thinks these people should just be happy with the following they have and stop trying to convert so many people just because they think it's right. Next time it happens I might try to convert them to buddhism just for kicks.

To Tiger_810, that wasn't really my first impression of christianity, I was a Christian for nearly 15 years, but for your answer I'd like to thank you. I wish more people of all religions could have that attitude. If they were there would be a lot more peace and love in the world, a person who believes in God never bothers me until they get obnoxious about it, same with Atheists, so if more people worshipped and spread God's word that way a lot less tension would arise. Just like with any other religion, I won't generalize.

I think its unfortunate that your first impression of Christianity is that. I seriously appologize for them because they are going about it the wrong way. Christianity isnt about condemming...its about sharing the love of God through good deeds to others and love to your fellow person. Jesus bascially did just that. He didn't go around telling people Hell is really hot...he walked over to the sick and helped them. That's what its all about...helping others and sharing God's love through that.
Also its about fullfiling a purpose that God has for us, whether we be teachers or leaders, etc and trusting him to direct us (because he knows everything)

When someone is searching for something, the first pamphlet that hits their door, may be the one theyll follow. I think thats all the door to door stuff is, who gets to the searching before anyone else.
Probably one out of evey 100 or more pamphlets may be read, and probably all but one is tossed out. Kinda a waste of paper.

I usually read every pamphlet that is handed to me...
Then I get out my Bibles and correct the horribly mis-interpreted scripture quotes in them. I like to do that with the Philadelphia Trumpet as well. As far as you wanting to return fire, try www.venganza.org They have pamphlets available for free download.

They are not meant to change your life, just meant to be a little kicker, you know? like an advertisement, gets you thinking. that's all.
and although they don't really have a big success rate in North America, they do have great success in Asia, South America, and Africa, among other places.

Gospel tracts have led a lot of people to the Lord.. You may make fun of the people, but I doubt if we will stop..Even the lions didn't do that.
