i think it makes some people feel like they have hope to escape an already miserable or bored life..some are looking for an excuse to shirk responsibility...and others genuinely want to see the glory of the coming of the Lord...its easy for us christian folks to get excited when we see the signs of the times around us, but we need to stay focused and not get carried away crazy ideas...the only thing we need to do is what we always do...keep our eyes on the Lord and take care of our buisness the best we know how.

I think most people are just expecting it -- not wanting it. From a non-Christian perspective, I do think that the Earth is being cleansed and readied for the beginning of a new era. A new cycle where things will be radically different, but different in a good way. I am excited on one hand because I am sort of anxious to see what changes will take place. But, you are also right to say that there will be many horrible, agonizing deaths. That is a horrible thing, but on one hand I think that this cleansing of the Earth is going on because of our treatment of Her(it) has been so poor and all of these natural disasters are just the Earth trying to make itself balanced again. So, if you look at it that way, it is our own fault, in a way, that things have to happen so violently to reach that end.

The endtimes started when Jesus left. People have been and are dying agonizing deaths now. I want everyone to have the opportunity to truly be free from the consequences of sin, and that being said, it is nice to look forward to the day that I can see God finally putting a stop to the foolishness.

Ultimately we all are assured of death, which is the day when the World as we know it shall die for us. Whether others die with us, whether two or ten or ten thousand or ten million die with us, our death is going to be individual and WE WILL LOSE ALL THERE IS TO LOSE!!
ONCE this basic reality is understood, that there is no avoiding OUR PERSONAL JUDGMENT DAY, it becomes immaterial whether it coincides or not coincides with the Judgment Day for the rest of the World.
ONCE one understands this basic reality, we will know for sure that JUDGMENT DAY will take place within our lives for us. How it will come about is immaterial. ONE THING IS FOR SURE!!
When we die, we meet the BELOVED!!! the LORD ALMIGHTY is to be dreaded by only those who have lived unjust life abusing his creatures. If you are a good person, and you have not done naughty things or if you have turned and asked forgiveness, why would you fear death, which is meeting the CREATOR. It is like a child who is separated from his mom meets her after school. A happy occasion.
I hope people see things in balance and in reality. BUT, my reality is mine alone. I can share it but not force it on you.
So, to each his own in the final analysis.

I think you have it backwards, the agonizing deaths are now. The true hope of the bible is for the kingdom of Christ to come here on eath and thus pain and death shall cease to be. This is the the actual Gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ, who would not want this to be?

They're dying horrible agonizing deaths now. I long for God to make all things new, and to set up His Rule upon the earth. Man has messed it up long enough and I wish for him peace and Reality.

Gives them some meaning in a life that otherwise would be viewed as wasted and that somehow the endtimes will show they haven't wasted their years on what pretty much is nonsense.

It isn't that they are bloodthirsty. It is that Christ will come and set things up right and bring complete righteousness in His iron hand rule of this world. If you know of some of this worlds characters you would agree that an iron rule would be required. It is the rebelliuois that will be vanquished.

That's easy. They don't want to die or to experience losing loved ones.
100 generations have lived and died since the 1st century, and yet each one manages to have the delusion that he's going to save THEM from that pain. Never mind he had no problem letting the others experience it.

I don't want it to happen in my lifetime but I think it will. Not everyone will die awful deaths, mostly just the wicked.
