Dearest Mrs Paige -
Your question has such an aura of sincerity, that I just had to STOP my Q/A 'surfing', and read your whole statement. . .
It occurs to me -
Your faith is based on, and centered around writings contained in a book that continues to be a best seller, year after year - for untold numbers. One of the main characters in this book of sacred writings was reportedly horribly maligned, long ago - and even murdered - for having and sharing beliefs that were not popular or accepted at that time. . . even prophesying that future believers and followers and preachers (you) would be persecuted . . . by non-believers. Seems that you are saying that this is happening to you?
Can you honestly expect to be treated any better today, than your personal 'savior' was , whose works you seek to emulate?
I'm amazed that you allow non-believers to 'hurt' you with their manifestations of disbelief and disagreement!!! Rejoice that the prophecy is fulfilled, each time you are rejected.
I'm truly sorry to know that when this happens to you --- you experience pain, but this reminds me of something I was told, long ago ---- ". . .throw your burdens on the Lord. . ." Perhaps doing just that will lighten your load, and refresh your spirit?
I hope that you keep following your heart, and trusting in your beliefs and faith. . . loving yourself . . . as you love your neighbor.
Peace be with you, and those you love . . . may you walk in beauty.

Well, God bless you too, Mrs. Page, I'm sure you are a decent kind woman and that you mean well.
Now, you may feel it's your mission to save us, but some people don't want your help.
Theres the story about the little old lady standing at a very busy intersection in the city. She's minding her business when the light changes and this Boy Scout takes a firm grip on her elbow and escorts her across the street.
When they arrive, she turns, smacks him with her purse and says; "Damn it, I didn't want to cross the street, I was waiting for my bus!"
So it is with some of the people you are trying to 'HELP', Mrs. Paige. They don't want to cross the street and they resent being told they had better do it ! They don't hate you personally, they don't know you. Relax and don't stress so much.

You know, too be honest, there are people out there who dont believe that the bible is the word of god (one of those being me) i'm not here to be anti-you of course.. All i'm saying is, the reason people dont want your help is because they dont believe in the bible and in some cases dont believe in god.
Christianity maybe a majority in america, but that doesnt mean everyone accepts it. Some even go to the point that they hate all things christian. I suppose this is due to the people who attempt to convert folks from whatever religion they are currently involved in, to christianity, under the guise that, the only word of god is the bible and the only ones allowed into heaven are the christians.

How would you feel if someone said to you:
Who will join me in calling upon our Gods to smite the Christians and conservatives from earth!? As heathens, are we not obliged to call upon our Gods to smite these Christians who are trying to take over this country? Is not the USA in TERRIBLE DANGER of being destroyed? We MUST call for a removal of these wicked Christians from our lands! Who will join me?!
Would you want to get to know this person? Do you feel that they only have your best interests at heart? Does this person sound scary and unbalanced? Does it sound like this person only wants to help people, not hurt or judge them? Does this sound like a bunch of phrases of hate or love?
I am sure that you recognize these words because you typed them in a question to this board, only I have switched the words "Christian" and "heathen" so you could see how your question appeared to others. Now that you are on the other side of your own words, how do they make you feel? This is how your question made some other people feel. Do you now see why some people may have wanted to call you names? Do you see how your words might have been offensive? Can you put yourself in the other persons place long enough to understand why they were not interested in your message? Is this the way that you really want to appear to others? I am not trying to offend you, I simply want to give you a way to find the answer to your question.

Ohhhh....
Sweetie, if you are going to come into an internet forum about religion, the first thing you need to do is to arm yourself with the whole armour of God. The internet is a rough place, but, hey, God's people have endured MUCH worse than some name-calling! Remember what we used to say as children, "sticks and stones can break my bones, but names can never hurt me!" Just think, even as we speak, there are people dealing with REAL "sticks and stones"!
You will need a lot of patience. Some people have been badly hurt by "Christian" wanna-bees, and are full of rage. I feel really badly about those. It makes me SOOO mad to think what has been done in the name of Christ, or under the cover of His banner. Some are just jumping on the bandwagon...atheism is "in" right now. They think they are being very witty and smart. The best way to handle them is to give back as good as you get. Keep a sense of humor. Then, too, some people are just cruel and vicious by nature. Just keep showing them love.
Remember, people mocked Jesus, too, Hun, and He bore it for our sakes.
These people need our pity and our prayers, not our anger. They need our love.

Jesus said that Christians would be persecuted. Mark 10:29,30
You get a large spiritual family and enemies. To a degree you might earn the respect of non Christians if you treat them with dignity. If not, it doesn't matter. Doing God's will matters.
Many Christians are killed for their faith. Expect the worst, and maybe it won't be as bad.
Rev.6:11 And a white robe was given to each of them; and they were told to rest a little while longer, until the number was filled also of their fellow slaves and their brothers who were about to be killed as they also had been.
Best wishes...tina

Because the bible tells you this will happen in the last days. If they live like there is no God, they had better hope they are right. We know the truth though. When Jesus comes back and the tribulation starts, then they will see true horrors on this earth. Just keep doing what you are called to do.

Remember, Jesus said "blessed are you when people revile you, and say all manner of evil against you for my sake; rejoice and be exceeding glad...for great is your reward in heaven".
That being said...don't forget that God's word also tells us to talk to people in a humble fashion, with respect. If you are speaking the truth in love, that's what the Lord asks of you. You can't determine how someone is going to react to it. Also, on these forums, lots of people say things that they would never say to your face. Because they can hide behind a keyboard.
Don't even think about it.....keep your eye on the prize, your high calling in Jesus Christ, and remember to speak kindly, the truth of the gospel message.

Before you judge others be sure your own backyard is clean.
I will ask you the following questions and in your own heart you will know the truth:
1>how long did it take god to create
2>why did the prophets hide from the rulers of their day
3>what's the real reason jesus was brought before the roman government in the first place
if you don't know these answers then please don't be another person spreading dogmas that are untrue,as this is far worse than not knowing at all.Thank you.

You sound like a really sweet person . The nonchristians out there can sometimes be hurtful but we as christians can be also. As for me , the only time I really get mad @ someone is when they disrespect God . I know i can say some very hurtful things then. But as christians we do need to watch what we say . The next time someone does that to you just dont worry about it. You know where your gona go when you die. They probably dont . When they say hurtful things to you just tell them "God bless you" and go do something else . GOD LOVES YOU !!!!!!!~~~*!

Not everyone is ready or wanting to be saved. You need to respect that and maybe wait for people to ask you before you give. I'm sure you have the best intentions but that would be a good idea if you are trying to avoid people from being rude and hurting you in the future.
