But the medical view however, is unequivocal...
In 1957, Hooker published a report called "The Adjustment of the Male Overt Homosexual." It showed that "homosexuals were not inherently abnormal and that there was no difference between homosexual and heterosexual men in terms of pathology." Dr. Hooker headed the Task Force on Homosexuality of the National Institute of Mental Health for many years. Johnson wrote:
"As a result of Hooker's finding, the American [Psychological Association]... removed homosexuality from its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Psychological Disorders in 1973. In 1975 it then released a public statement that homosexuality was not a mental disorder. In 1994, two decades later, the American Psychological Association finally stated, '...homosexuality is neither a mental illness nor a moral depravity. It is the way a portion of the population expresses human love and sexuality'."

Evelyn Hooker died on 1996-NOV-18, but had lived long enough to see the acceptance of homosexuality as a normal, natural sexual variant by most religious liberals, social liberals, and youth. She also saw the establishment of a new area of scientific study: sexual orientation in humans.
As of 2006, all of the professional organizations in the field state that homosexuality is a normal, natural, and fixed sexual orientation, with the exception of a small group

The homosexual lifestyle is certainly a choice, as is the heterosexual lifestyle. The orientations are probably not a choice. Would it be fair to demand that heteros not engage in a heterosexual lifestyle because some silly old book says so? Of course not.
But I still fail to understand why people are so concerned about how other people are getting off. I don't think it's really because "the Bible says so". The OT says all kinds of rediculous crap no-one pays attention to, including the whole premarital sex thing that almost no Christians take seriously.
They've picked this one out in particular for some reason. I think it's just an irrational prejudice rationalized with words from ancient books.

If you mean "chosen" by "choose to act on attractions," yes, it's chosen. But everyone's "lifestyle" is chosen. I don't think most straights see that.
I think that same-sex *and* opposite-sex attractions come from a combination of biological and environmental factors. For instance, if my father didn't have dark hair and a fascination with fast cars, I doubt that I'd like Tony Stewart, a dark-haired racecar driver, as much as I do. However, since same-sex attractions are almost always treated as worse, they'll be treated like a disease that must be "explained" by science. As if people's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness comes from a laboratory and not the Declaration of Independence and the laws of nature!
And Evelyn Hooker was a hero.

Hey my friend. who cares what a Medical Team says? Please tell me.
God said it one time. It's done. It's over. A Medical Team will not change the Word of God.
Now, If you think a Team of Doctors can magically transplant Homosexuals to heaven without God's approval, I wish you luck.
I'll say it again, I have ZERO problem with a person choice in life. I didn't write the Book. Every person on this Globe has the right to choose the life they want to live. God Himself gives each person this choice. God will NOT make you do anything. You will come to God out of love and obedience, or not come at all.
There are lifestyles that are fun, I have done them in my life, we all have. There comes a time, you hear Truth and make a choice. Christian is not a word. It is a way of life. It is a "walk" with God. This "walk" continues everyday, this is not a 1 time walk down the isle and it's done. However, some people do make a walk down the isle 1 time and it is over. That's too bad.
Jesus Christ did NOT have to die on the cross. He could have very well walked away. why did He do it? He did it out of Obedience to The Father. He set the example of obedience for Christians to follow the Word.
When a person is condemned, it is NOT for the "act" of what they did. They are condemned for the disobedience to God. Being a Christian is not just a simple act. It is living a life of obeidience to God, just like your kids were obedient to you. God is not going to put up with hoodlum kids. God is very strict on his conduct. Now, If you let your kids slide by on things, that is your problem. God tells Christians how to raise they're kids, for a reason.

Many kids are programmed for this lifestyle when they are young. A friend of mine has a son that his mother did a number on him when he was small and it looks like he is going that way. We pray for the boy and hope that God can reach him in spite of what his mother did.
I have talked to a few and most have some sort of story about how someone got to them around or before puberty and turned them to this sin.
If you don't think that this sin affects other people, go to the homo and lesbian forum on answers and read the questions. And it is usually an older sodomite that starts the younger ones into this sin..

Whether or not it is a chosen lifestyle or not isn't the issue. The fact of the matter is are they hurting anyone? If they're consenting adults, they're not. Most people here are going to quote the bible and say its a sin. But why must they use the bible to justify the fact that you think what someone is doing in the privacy of their own home is icky? No one is asking them to watch or participate. If two men making it makes you gag, fine. But don't condemn them and deny them the same rights everyone else enjoys.

In the "normal" human male, the hypothalmus is larger than that in a "normal" female. There is scientific evidence that homosexual males have a smaller hypothalmus than straight men, and lesbian females have one more the size of as straight male.
If that is actually the fact, then who is to say that theya re not botn that way?

Homosexuality is not a "choosen lifestyle." It is who a person is. Why would anyone choose a lifestyle that would cause them to be ostrasized by a large section of the population. A choice is a person who denies his homosexuality because of others in our society, not the person who decides not to hide who and what they are.

Yeah yeah yeah - but what good is science when we have an infallible book of the word of God?
See, when people think this way, no matter what evidence you have against a notion, they will fail to see it anny other way.

Jesus loves you no matter. Call me old fashioned, but in my day men courted the ladies, not men.
Talk to Jesus and let him convict your heart with the Holy Spirit. Give him a chance before it's too late. He loves you!
