What do ya'll think of the movie "Passion of the Christ"? Did it do any justice to the real story?

1 Corinthians 1:22-23
"For Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we PREACH CHRIST CRUCIFIED, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,"

Galations 3:1
"You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes JESUS CHRIST WAS CLEARLY PORTRAYED AS CRUCIFIED"

So how is one way to preach Christ crucified?
Like the old saying goes, "One picture is worth one thousand words".
Catholics use the 3-D picture called a Crucifix (a cross WITH Jesus on the cross) and not a bare cross.

Doesn't Gal 3:1 sound like the Galatians were looking at a Crucifix?

Catholics use a Crucifix to remind us of HOW Jesus redeemed us. Of His sacrafice for us. Of how the Father gave up His Son.

So the REAL question:

Why do Protestants (non-catholic christians) refuse to "preach christ crucified" by using a Crucifix ???

To many, I'm going to a place called Hell because I haven't accepted this individual known as Christ. But I know the whole story about who "he" was and what he did, and I thought it was a cool way to be. I've been sticking very closely to his personality/actions. But from the Religious followers, hypocrisy abounds. I have my own answer, but would like to hear from the group of which I speak.

it seems most religions are contary to each other. You cannot be a Christian and believe in Hindu Dieties. You cannot be a Buddist that worships Mohammed etc etc. If this is the case then over 50% of the world's religous population are plain WRONG in their beliefs. Does your flavour of god(s) not deem to enlighten the world's population so they know which religion to choose? If they do not then why not?

When he tempted Jesus he did not lie but tried to use the truth to his advantage.

What is your opinion?

There are many people in the whole world that have sex without being married. I am one of them and I realize that it's not the best decision I've made because I am now pregnant because of it. Now, I am still not married, but we are still together. I have done research on what God thinks of it and I know he thinks it is wrong and unjust. However, just because I've wronged him doesn't necessarily mean that I will go to hell, right? What do ya'll think? I was told that hell is in my future because of my decision. I don't agree with that at all. I believe that sex is made for marriage, but if it happens before that it doesn't get heaven out of your future. Do ya'll agree with me?

I've been browsing around to day and have read some comments that somewhat puzzled me. Are there people who believe that human sexuality is /strictly/ for reproduction of the species? And if that is so, why? Wouldn't it stand to reason that if basic, biological reproduction were the mere goal, that the sanctity of marriage would lose all its significance?

I was under the belief that sex is sacred and to be kept only within a marriage because it is a symbol of God's love and pure fidelity for each of us, as a husband and wife share such a deep love that should equally remain persistently faithful. Am I mistaken?

Now I want to know the Islamic position on the same subject..
Many of you must be aware that some Muslim countries are very poor and they have very small houses where siblings will have to share a room even with their parents...It's actually puzzling to see the difference of opinions of people...
Because of the inability of families to have decent living conditions even incest takes place sometimes...so pls explain...

All day long, every day God is busy keeping track of who sleeps with whom, and who was allowed to sleep with whom. I'm sure He must get tired of it.

Can't we just help Him a little, by having one sex-less day each year? I'm sure it would make Him very happy and relaxed.

Because what we're talking about here is one book of fiction, based on another book of fiction.
And people take both so very, very seriously!
Honestly if it wasn't so bloody tragic, it would be funny.
And of course the tragedy is that there are still people, in this day and age, that believe the bible is anything other than a book of mythology. To be honest, I have nothing but pity for them...

(now just watch the answers roll in with statements like "I'm the one that will pity YOU when god sends you to hell".. and so on... threats and fear, that's what religion boils down to...)

Do you agree with what is said in the book regarding religion and how Christianity took over and made all other religions wrong and punishable, if you followed them. Surely any form of worship to whatever god is what is right for that person, if it helps them live their lives?

I am Lord Sananda also known to you as Jesus the Christed One, who came to Earth to show you the way and the path that leads back to the Creator God. In reality I have never left you, and you will be aware that by example I resurrected myself.

Many times I have returned either as myself, or in other guises to suit the circumstances I was coming into. Some still look for my return as a leader of the Christian movement, but when I openly come to you again , it will be for every soul on Earth.

There is a new message that I shall bring, and you will see that it is universal and supported by your Masters who will be with me. It has always been planned that I will be the first to touch my feet upon your beautiful home. What may astound you, yet will be seen as fulfilling the prophecies in this connection, is that I will arrive in a spacecraft. Were you not told that I would come in the clouds, and so be it, in a way that will be appropriate to the times. You are soon destined..........

All day, every day God is busy answering prayers, making sure His Holy rules are followed, smiting us from time to time. It must be a busy job.

I think we simple human beings should allow God to have a free day each year. He can take some time off, spend some time with his son, take him to ZooHeaven or something like that.

Don't you think God, and also his Son should be allowed a day off each year?
