I know what church is, in definition, but i want to know what people's personal beliefs are (regardless of faith).

i want to know what church(or whatever your faith involves) does for you, what you get out of it, and how it makes you feel about yourself and in general.

Be specific about feelings, i'm more curious about the intangible than in actual rites and rituals and events.

To you, as a person of any faith, what is church?

The gospel of Judas gives us an alternative story of Jesus' betrayal. In it, Judas is asked by Jesus to "free Him of his clothes" (or something like that) which essentially means to free him from his physical body.

Don't you traditional Christians believe Jesus died for our salvation? So, therefore, his death was necessary. Why is it so far-fetched to believe that Judas was one of the apostles that truly understood Jesus' message about the spiritual vs. the physical? Judas needed to "betray" Jesus in order to give Jesus the opportunity to die in the way that he did & provide salvation for the world. Why don't people accept this? Why so threatened by it? How do we know what happened? All we have to go on is the Bible, which has been altered, edited, translated, and put together by man, by corrupt church officials? Any thoughts?

God is all powerful. Yet, looking around, evil seems to be on the up and up. So is God losing, or is he letting the devil win on purpose? why?

then why does He allow Tsunamis, Tornadoes, Floods and other such disasters to Kill the innocent. Or maybe you know someone who went to the doctors office for a regular checkup and comes away from that visit with only 6 months to live - and they were decent people. Why does God allow such things.

"But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." This verse, Matthew 15:9, is further supported by these words of the Quran:
"And (remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O Jesus, son of Mary! Did you say unto men: "Worship me
and my mother as two gods besides Allah?
" He will say: "Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely
have known it. You know what is in my inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the All-Knower
of all that is hidden and unseen.
Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allah) did command me to say: ‘Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.’
And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were a Witness to all things.
(This is a warning to the Christians )." (Al-Ma’idah 5:116-117)

Revelations 17:4
3Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a desert. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. 4The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. 5This title was written on her forehead:
MYSTERY
BABYLON THE GREAT
THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES
AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus.

Doesn't the pope wear purple and scarlett?, with that gold gliterry hat?

Its as clear as day that it is the pope, but what does everyone else think? BE CLEAR!!

Was my car braking down a blessing?
My car broke down the day before my birthday.
I called the guy I was dating, he did not really care. 1. It showed me not to waste my time with him. 2. I found out who really does care about me and who does not. 3. My tow truck guy got there in 30 minutes. He said he was going to get off work but something told him to take the call. 4. I still talk to him, really nice person.5. They told me it would be $1200 to fix it. It was only $800. 6. My car broke down the same day I was going to perform but the week before they called me to move the date. 7. When went to the bank to get the money out to pay the mechanic, they told me about an opening in the bank that pays twice as much as my job now. They job would be if I get it the 7th luckiest blessing of all.
But I knew it going to be a blessing.

[...] 53 Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. 55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. [...] 60 Then many of his disciples who were listening said, "This saying is hard; who can accept it?" [...] 66 As a result of this, many of his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer accompanied him. [...]

I am a catholic. I believe that the bread we eat during mass is Jesus' flesh. I am wondering how you people (especially protestants) interpret the verse 66 of this passage? If Jesus' speech about eating His flesh was only symbolic, why didn't Jesus tell His disciples that it was symbolic and that they didn't need to go away? Why did He let them go?
Many thanks for your answers!
