All day, every day God is busy answering prayers, making sure His Holy rules are followed, smiting us from time to time. It must be a busy job.

I think we simple human beings should allow God to have a free day each year. He can take some time off, spend some time with his son, take him to ZooHeaven or something like that.

Don't you think God, and also his Son should be allowed a day off each year?

To "Preacher": how is this 'puching my luck with God' ? I'm just trying to look after the Guy, i'm trying to be nice to the Man. How about you? Believing in God is not all about only you, it's a relationship you know? relationships work both ways...

God is the end result of a failed search for truth by a very shallow mind, provided that any search was made at all instead of swallowing the pile of delusional bilge that was spoon fed to you as a child.

I think that you should be very careful how you push your luck with God. Though he is longsuffering, he still angers also. In the book of Exodus, He opened the earth (great earthquake) and swallowed all those that were questioning Moses' guidance over the children of Israel. As for your question, Never once since the world was created by Him, has God ever been out of control. However he did rest one day, the seventh or Sabbath day. Look at the shape that the world is in and ask yourself this question, what kind of shape would we be in if he did take just a day off.

God is all that is. There is nothing that is not God. God wonders why He is not listened to(His main method of communication is through feelings). God is not a policeman nor a smiter. God does not have a job. God does not punch a time clock. As for His Son, I am His son and you are also His son.

Was your question inspired by the movie Bruce Almighty? Hilarious movie. It pokes fun at the misconceptions of who and what God is. I still think Oh God with John Denver was the best God movie made so far. It made me rethink my ideas about God.
"He made it rain inside the car!" A classic.

You can take your tongue out of your cheek now.

So, what you're saying is that after keeping this universe running for about 10-15 thousand years, you want God to just leave it alone for a day so it can completely fall apart and destroy itself? Without God keeping things in line, entropy would ruin everything... Then again, God is the enforcer of all of the laws of nature and physics, including entropy. So, perhaps entropy wouldn't exist then, either???

I had years that I thought were filled with Godless days. They were very empty and lonely years. Now that I look back, I see that He was always with me, I just chose not to see Him.

Having known what even the thought of a Godless day is like, no, I wouldn't want a real one.

I nominate 365 godless days a year...

Actually, I think the poor guy should retire. Maybe pass on his position to some smart up-and-comer in his organisation? After all, there are a lot of bright minds working for him.

Remember these words from Jesus Christ Himself speaking to the high priest Caiaphus, "Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." (Matt. 26:64) Caiaphus did not believe in Jesus Christ either but that does not mean he will not be judged. God does not need you to believe in Him in order to exist and you would be wise to consider this for the benefit of your eternal soul. There is still time to ask God for forgiveness and He loves to pardon His people. But don't belittle Him or His work. He is in the business of saving sinners and we should praise God that He never tires in this task. This work will not be done until Jesus Christ returns. "Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." (Rev. 22:12)

God never slumbers, that's His choice, not mine. He is with us always, that's His promise. He never breaks His promises. He did rest on the seventh day, but He still was watching over His creation.

God created us and he is the only one who knows what is good and bad for us. He wouldnt abandon us even for one day. Plus its never a burden to call upon God, all day and all night. I dont think hed enjoy that day off.
