When he tempted Jesus he did not lie but tried to use the truth to his advantage.

What is your opinion?

Both. But remember(I cannot for the life of me remember who said it), the most effective lies contain some element of truth.

He does both, depending on who he is trying to tempt. Satan knew that the Word of God was in the heart of Christ, so that is what he had to work with. In the Garden of Eden, however, he blatantly lied to Eve. He's tricky and sometimes just takes truth out of context, but he will straight up lie if the occasion calls for it.

Satan knows what the Truth is, he is the accuser.

When with Jesus, he wanted to see if as a man he (Jesus) would do for himself or prove himself on request of Satan.

In my opinion, Satan is very crafty with doubt. Doubt is so subtle yet hugely influential in the world. Without doubt, we wouldn't question God and would have followed his rules in the first place.

I believe Satan is a liar and twists the truth to his advantage as well.

Some will do anything to be in control.

The Bible says that Satan is the father of all lies. And when he tempted Jesus he knew that he could not snag Jesus by lying to Him so he told him truth to ensnare Him. (Didn't work)

Satan is a master at deception. You might say he is like the science scholars of the big-bang theory. They always change what they call the truth to accommodate their facts.

There is no devil. at least no a "living" satan. The devil was created by the church, it is a symbol of rebelion against god, pagans worship nature, which has a gender male/female, both are needed to create life, so pagans acknowledge both, male animals have horns so the male god of pagan has horns, the church took the image of the pagan gods a "competeing religion" at the time and made it the symbol of the source of all evil, a spiritual boogeyman to scare us into submission and take out the compitition. when you do somthing wrong you are not possessed by the devil, its just you being bad, take responcibility for your actions.

Satan means NOT TRUE (SAT = TRUE; AN means NOT).
SATAN is perceived wrongly. The experience must be conveyed in one way or another. We are just to prone to give absolute meaning to the explanation.
How you are going to explain how afraid you have been to somebody that have never experienced fear?

He does not tell a different version of the truth, he twists the truth
to his advantage. When he does this it is not for your benefit but for his.
