Religion & Spirituality - 2 July 2006

I have one question and I mean this with no disrespect or mockery.
I once heard this question posed to an Athiest and he could not answer it with a plausable make sence type of answer.
Here goes.
If we are decendents of apes, monkeys etc., why are there still monkeys, apes, ets? If one group of monkeys/apes were able to learn and evolve then why were the others not able to? Monkeys/apes learn by example so it makes sense to say that if one monkey/ape saw another monkey/ape doing something that was improving life for them and the family then why did the monkey/ape not take it back and teach his/her family group.
Just wondering if I can get a answer with out mockery and slander that makes sense.

First I want to say that I hope the question doesn't offend anyone. I'm just asking because of my textbook & because I don't believe it could be accurate to the degree the author states. It says that some young Muslim children are being taught their religion with a bad interpretation of Islam.

The reason I don't see how this could be accurate is that I'm sure that they would be taught the true meanings of Islam. I'm not Muslim...I'm Christian, but I learned a little bit of facts on Islam (along with Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism & Buddhism) in a world religions class. And to me, all the religions basically believe in being peaceful.

So, why would my textbook's author make the statement about how some Muslim children are being taught about their religion? And could it be offensive on the author's part?

accepted Jesus as the Son of God, What would happen. Would judgement day never happen.

If he can't does that meant God has choosen his fate and the worlds taking away his free will.

One of the things the bible tells us is that freewill is the basis of God gift of life . If God has taken the devil's free will now do I know that my freewill has not been taken and my life is one of fate and not freewill.

The way I see it, everyone who gets a serious illness wants or has someone who wants a miracle. Some people get cured, some do not.

Are they really miracles or luck. If they are miracles why did God choose one over the other. What dictates that choice?

Why haven't there been any blockbuster miracles in the last thousand years or so?

I could go on and on. It does not make sense to me, and I want it to make sense!

I think the Marian Movement of Priests should replay its handbook (which is basically just the mediations of Fr. Gobbi) with the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The reason is this: the Catechism combines Sacred Scripture and Tradition and the Magisterium--the three sources of inspiration--and basically lays out the teachings of the Catholic Church; but the locutions of Fr. Gobbi run counter to both the Catholic faith and reason (in one meditation, Mary says Jesus will return in the year 2000. Well, Catholics are taught that no one knows when Jesus will return, and it's way past 2000 yet Jesus has still not come).

I read a horrific story in Sahih Bukhary [226 & 5254] and also in Sahih Muslim [3162]. The story is about some people who had some illness and threfore prophet Muhammed sent them with his servant to drink camel urine and milk. Once those people became just fine, they killed the servant and stole the camels. Prophet Muhammed sent his companions to arrest them and he cut off their legs, hands, and eyes and he threw them in the desert until they died by hunger, thirst and heat.

I am not arguing the crime those people committed. My question is about the horrible, inhumane punishment. Was not prophet Muhammed (who had the wonderful teachings about mercy) supposed to simply kill them instead of that horrific torture?

There is a large conflict between the Chruch of Christ and the Babtsist church. CCC has the Lords supper every sunday and a belives it is wrong to sing with music or raise hands or dance... I'm Babtist but I go to a church of Christ w/ my boyfriend's family. The church wasn't created for these conflicts. Why are we so separated? Aren't we all called to praise God as one? What are your views on this?

Islam relegion is great and Im going to be muslim congratulate me .when I read the translation of the holly Qur'aan and the words of Prophet Mohammad showed me the reality .And the reality is this relegion based on love and not hatred ,killing as christian people said .No one should give the desigion unless if he or she reads and know the fact cause it was mentioned in the Holly Quraan about all the prophets whom sent by GOD and two chapters about Jessus and about all prophets so may GOD Bless Islam because it love all the prophets.so Im asking you to congratulate me and Im a beloved brother to you christian people ,just please promise me to read and balance your brain.
