The bottomline is, I think, to go back to where we started as Christians and stop pointing fingers at each other. It has caused a lot of confusion and I can't see an immediate answer to it. A lot of those who are watching us are losing faith on Christianity because of the divided theological ideology and portrayal. It is such a destructive situation and what have we really achieved all these years. A divided faith who all are pointing towards heaven with each trailing a different path.

You've stated things quite eloquently. I've been in both churches and what you say is true.
Each Christian denomination has its own views. And they all think they're right and the only one that's going to Heaven.
I personally don't agree with the way the Church Of Christ does their version of Communion. It doesn't seem to have the same meaning for them that it does for Catholics.
At the same time, I like the fact that they encourage all to participate. They try to make their congregation and visitors feel welcome that way. While it doesn't work for me (I'm Catholic and it would be a sin for me to receive it there), it touches me that they reach out like that.
In regard to Baptists, it's too emotional and theatrical for my taste. They do reach many people with all the Bible thumping and shouting. But it's like they scare you into being baptized rather than making it something that you should do willingly and from the heart.
I wish all the attacks within the various denominations about other denominations would stop and that we will all one day be united in Christ.

All religions have different views or aspects on how things "should be done". Everyone knows this. Yes, the CofC takes the Lord's Supper every week. No, they don't use musical instruments in their worship service. There are different biblical reasons WHY things are like this. I won't go into them now...if you have questions about scripture, email me. What I would like to say is that these things are petty. Churches seperate and people argue over small things like this and the larger, more important things are overlooked. My father, who is a CofC minister, wrote this and I would like to share it with you. It is a little bit lengthy, but please...
CONCERNING MATTERS OF FELLOWSHIP
I have heard a great deal in the past few years about fellowship. Who we, as christians, can and cannot have fellowship with. It occurs to me that if God has accepted a man, what others may think of him is of little significance in terms of his salvation. Fellowship is much too precious to be broken lightly, or arrogantly. I realize there are times when it must needs be broken for the cause of truth and holiness. However, I must view that as only a last resort, when one is an arrogant, unrepentant sinner against God. May God help us all to spend our lives trying to redeem men to Christ, not seperate them from Him. The manner in which we deal with our brethren with whom we differ is more important than the difference, in many cases. It must, however, be remembered that fellowship between people can only exist when both or all parties involved are in fellowship with God. Or put another way, there can be no fellowship with a person who is not in fellowship with God.

I agree with you on this. God wans us to express our love for Him any way that we can. If you have the Lord's supper on a regular basis, then it will become routine in your faith and it won't matter as much to you. People (and churches) have a way of putting traditions into practice that aren't Biblical and are sometimes anti-Biblical. The best thing to do things that are Biblically based. If that means finding a new church, then that's what it means. Your soul is too important to be caught in traditions that cause you to stumble.

Never let anyone tell you that what you belive is wrong. If god were to speak to all the churches at once he/she would have some very unnice things to say to them. Don't just look at one conflict, look at then all, homosexuality and what not. Would not god want us to accept all of his/her children as brothers and sisters in christ? No where that i have seen in the bible does it say "this is how you have to praise me". He/she doesn't care. Just as long as we follow our life as he/she has set out and try to live ourl ives in the way the lord would expect. With love,compassion and acceptance in our hearts for all mankind. So if you want to sing and you want to dance and you want to raise your hands in god's name, go for it girl! You'll be the better person for it becasue you refused to let your views be changed to fit what someone else considers acceptalbe.

Read the last Psalms... that will help with the music thing anyways... :D
Psalm 150
1 Praise the LORD. [a]
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD.

The Bible says that there would be false doctrines in the last days.
It's in the Bible to worship God in song, dance, musical instuments, lifting holy hands.
He hasn't changed.
The joy that they are missing is incredible!

Satan is a great military mind, it was he who taught us to divide and concur. That is obediently what he did to the Christian church. Do you have a KJV? If not then please get one, if you do then please take it out and ask God to help you to study it, and please, stop learning the doctrines of men for the Commandments of God.
