I think the Marian Movement of Priests should replay its handbook (which is basically just the mediations of Fr. Gobbi) with the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The reason is this: the Catechism combines Sacred Scripture and Tradition and the Magisterium--the three sources of inspiration--and basically lays out the teachings of the Catholic Church; but the locutions of Fr. Gobbi run counter to both the Catholic faith and reason (in one meditation, Mary says Jesus will return in the year 2000. Well, Catholics are taught that no one knows when Jesus will return, and it's way past 2000 yet Jesus has still not come).

I am Catholic and I have never heard of Fr. Gobbi or his meditations. I am devoted to Our Blessed Mother, because she leads all souls to her son Jesus. I will definitely check out this Fr. Gobbi. One thing Catholics believe is that Jesus has come again and continues to come always each time the celebration of the Holy Eucharist takes place. The host and the wine become the body and blood of Christ, during consecration, and when we receive Holy Communion, we are receiving Jesus himself, within ourselves. So it is not actually correct to say that Catholics are taught that no one knows when Jesus will return because He does return and become one with us at each Mass.

Would you like to do away with all that Catholic mess? If I were you I would trash all my Catholic books, handbooks, and meditations and, go buy myself a King James Bible. I would leave the Catholic Church and find me a good Independent, Fundamental, Soul-Winning, Sin Hating, Devil Fightin', Foot Stompin', Pulpit Poundin', God Loving Baptist Church. That's what I would do......Why don't you ask Mother Angelica at www.ewtn.org (the Eternal Word Television Network) A Catholic station on the t.v. and internet. P.S., I think "Father" Gobbi is a hell bound liar. Well, your the one who asked.

I think that, as you pointed out, it is easy to tell what is true, false, and what needs more time.

However, let me offer a suggestion. This is a complex and involved Catholic issue that Protestants are going to get confused on and it might re-enforce some of the faulty beliefs about Catholicism's view on Mary. Let's keep this to a Catholic forum shall we?

There is a scripture in the bible where it talks about false prophets. You draw your own conclusions from that. By the way, no one knows when Jesus will come back, only the father knows, not even Jesus himself.

I think Jesus preached against making the traditions of men the commandments of God, so I don't think tradition would be one of the sources of inspiration. God doesn't have tradition. He doesn't have things that He does just because He's always done them.
