The way I see it, everyone who gets a serious illness wants or has someone who wants a miracle. Some people get cured, some do not.

Are they really miracles or luck. If they are miracles why did God choose one over the other. What dictates that choice?

Why haven't there been any blockbuster miracles in the last thousand years or so?

I could go on and on. It does not make sense to me, and I want it to make sense!

You should read the C. S. Lewis book, "Miracles".
Lewis writes very well and covers all the angles.

As a Pastor and life long Christian (Now I don't know if you are a Christian or not, but beside that point, I will answer your question.) I personally can answer yes, miracles do happen.

I would recommend that you read the book: Miracles Can Be Yours Today by Pat Robertson (Of the 700 Club). In this book, Pat states that we live in a world of miracles. Sometimes they are small, simple answers to prayer for our daily needs; other times they are overwhelmingly powerful acts of God that can't be denied. In his lifetime, Pat Robertson has seen, heard and been touched by thousands of miracles in his life and others' -- many of these are first hand accounts which he shares in this book, but all of which provide a remarkable testimony of God's love for us. Yet Robertson doesn't stop there. He goes on to explore the miracles of Jesus, show the difference between positive thinking and true faith, and discuss the proven principles of miracles so that we too may live a miraculous life that is touched by God -- whether faced with sickness, poverty, spiritual bondage, anxiety or addiction, miracles can be yours today.

Also you can read, Miracles by C. S. Lewis (Author of the Chronicles of Narnia books) It is an impeccable inquiry into the proposition that supernatural events can and do happen in this world. C. S. Lewis uses his remarkable logic to build a solid argument for the existence of divine intervention.

Most importantly you can read The Devotional Bible (New Century Version) by General Editor and Pastor Max Lucado. In this Bible there are entire sections laid out "Where God did this just for you".

There are miracles all around us. Life itself is a miracle. It was no accident that we were put together the way we are. As for why some people receive miracles and others don't, only God knows the answer to that. I know in my own life, I've prayed for things I didn't receive, but something better came of it later.

Well I see miracles every day. But we have to be willing to see what is in our own backyard. How great is the sunshine on your face and the clean air in your nose! How wonderful is the food on your table and the sight in your eyes. The opportunity to smile in the face of hardship! What a mighty miracle that is! God is mighty and I do not question how when or where he shall heal (only one type of miracle). In the end all things happen for a reason, all things are part of a mighty plan. I am just thankful to be part of it...weather I am healed or by brother is.

No. I find it very suspicious that as science progresses, there are fewer and fewer "miracles."

It's like now that everyone has a camera on their phone, suddenly there aren't as many UFO or bigfoot sightings.

someone wrote:
"The Bible illustrates numerous miracles "

So do comic books, but that doesn't make them real.

someone wrote"
"Yes, mostly in other countries than America"

Hmmmm. Could it be that it happens more in those places they have less of a scientific infrastructure and more traditions of superstition? Naaaa! It's just a coincidence. I'm sure that there is lots and lots and lots of documentation on your "miracle baby" but that no doctor wants to become legendary by publishing a paper on it and that no journalist wants to win the Pulitzer uncovering the conspiracy to hide this and that no church group wants to proove this happened to get more conversions. Naaaa. Why bother?

If you believe in miracles, you look for miracles. Sometimes, if the facts are hazy enough, you see miracles.

Yes, a lot of them, but it won't make the news, no blood or gore. Why do some get miracles and others don't? I don't know, maybe they ones who get their miracles have something more in life they need to accomplish. Maybe their miracle give them the faith to believe and maybe because of their miracles, others came to believe. I really don't know the mind of God, none of us do. Considering eternity, our life is very, very short, but it seems like everything to us. We just look at the small picture, our own life, but God sees the big picture.

I see people come answers saying miracles have happen to them like they been cured from cancer, seen someones leg grow, seen someone cured from mental illness, cured from drug addition etc. Dunno how true it is I would say its probably luck or something. I've never witnessed it for my self. But when I see people saying this stuff I wonder why if God does does he cure some people and not others my self to. I been suffering with an illness and I wish a miracle could happen for me, but with so many other people suffering maybe that's a bit selfish if God only helps some people and not others.

Maybe if you opened your ears and your eyes, you will see miracles everyday. If you turn of HBO and turn on TBN, you will hear testimonies of miraclous healings. Have you been hidden in a closet? There are people getting healed all over the world, it has to do with faith, patience, and trusting in the Lord. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.

How are you going to tell those who have been healed, that they were not. Until you have been through some adversities and the grace of God brought you out, until you have been ill, near death or in pain and the Grace of God has brought you out, you cannot dictate and hate on what is happening around you.

Biology and genetics dictate likelyhood that a person will recover. A miracle is a violation of the laws of nature. Someone's leg growing back overnight after being amputated, that would be a miracle.

every day we wake up its a miracle as no one is promised a tomorrow every breathe we take is a miracle they r all around us we just have to open our eyes and look as to why some get healed and some don't we will never know why. Sometimes things don't make since but I've just learned to trust God.

There are no miracles. Sometimes things happen that seem miraculous but so many things happen that a miracle could solve, then it's impossible to believe that miracles can be so selective.
But anyhow, life is miraculous in itself so maybe miracles do happen all the time.
