Some people think when you ask such a question that you are racial, but the truth is tat we, Black, White, Asian, Indian whatever know so little about one another. I feel without knowledge we will never understand what it means to be one Family.

Everyone wants to do something to help all problems that are happening in this world. I think the concept of that movie was great and if everyone helped even one person let alone 3 of them ,and told them to pass it on . WOW ! I think it would be very interesting to see the results spread and fan out . I helped someone pay for some groceries once and felt just a little better . Not just for helping them but also knowing that my money wasn't being wasted on personal gain for myself. I also helped along with a few others by chipping in some money for a couple of meals for some kids in our home town. It was not because the parents could not afford to do so , but that the kids were always left to fend for themselves at functions that required money. We have enough misery and worry in the world due to war caused by terrorism, guided by their own agendas and labeled for the cause of their religions. Start with the small things and then maybe we can achieve the great solutions for larger ones.

I love going to the supposedly upscale stores like Target and paying for food with an EBT card (food stamps) and have the snobby cashier smicker at me. I love to pull out my razr cell phone at that point to see her reaction.

When a man opens a door for me, or insists I exit the elevator first, I can't help but be offended. I'm a healthy young person, who happens to have a vagina, why does this mean I can't open a door? Am I the only one who finds chilvalry sexist?

If you take people like Paris Hilton for example. She was born into a rich family and became famous. Yet most people are born into average families and lead mundane lives. How are the lucky people chosen in life?

I'm currently taking an acting course (level one) in my college and I have taken acting classes and been involved with acting/modeling in the past. However, I'm also an introverted/shy type (seems to be opposite, yea I kno), and I'm in a class where they act more like high school snobs than college-age mature minded people, and half the students there already have a formulated and unfair opinion of me. Every time I perform (or attempt to), she says nothing, puts me down, or just throws me to the side while everyone else she offers not only advice, but she works with them too, whereas she barely acknowledges I'm there and come time where I have a question/comment, she just shurgs it off. Whether or not i'm a good actor is one thing, but seriously how do you deal with a teacher whose opinion already seems to be set about you and doesn't give you a fair chance?

i live in a generation of kids that were born after generation x. generation y many people call them, i called it the generation of materialism. why? it's simple we are so caught up in getting the latest and greatest. for example we will go to a hollister store or abercrombie store and find a pair of pants that we like and they cost $100. there is a similar style of pants at jc penny that costs only $25. what do we do? we buy the expensive pants, why, because it's all about the label. i don't fall under this category for two reason, one, if the pants are exactly the same, i'll buy the cheap one and maybe spend something else with the other $75 or something. another sad thing about the generation of materialism is the thing we will do in order to stay in the "in" crowd, we take those drugs we know are very bad but because it's "in". the scary thing about all of this is, this generation will be running this country soon. love or hate what i have to say, i would like a response anyway.

I join yahoo answers was because I was genuinely confused about what I should do with my life, and to listen to other intelligent everyday people who a world of knowlegde and wisdom to offer. And perhaps that I could shed a beacon unto individuals in need.

Don't get me wrong, this site has been a wonderful resource when I needed to hear from someone who had already experienced what I was going through.
Nevertheless, I read more upsetting remarks regarding races. I'm only 16 years old and in the words of Dr. King I feel generalized and judged by the color of my skin rather than the content of my character. And as ironic as it sounds some people need to grow up and learn to understand that we all come from different walks of life, and the sooner we accept this the sooner we would be able to move forward and prosper as a nation. Who here feels the same way?

I want to hear awkward, strange, funny, catch the person off guard, ways to answer a phone call.
One way would be to answer by saying your phone number. Another way would be pretending to be a business (i.e. “Miguel’s abortion center.”)
Best answer gets full points.
Come on! I've been getting prank calls and I want to turn the tables!

Graduation Day is approaching quick and now I'm finishing up with my college forms, the only problem is that I have no earthly idea what I'm going to major in OR even what I want to do with my life.

I had a couple of ideas, but the decision gets even harder the more I think about it.(1) I want to do something entertainment wise, and I don't mean backstage crew either. All my life I've enjoyed performing for people, getting my chance to shine, and pleasing those watching me, and since I have a passion for acting and performing musically, I thought it would be a no brainer...but kind to find out, jobs in the acting and music industry aren't exactly "stable". Basically, when I graduate from college I won't have a steady paying job right away. So I thought I could (2) major in something that would provide me with a stable job...but that job would most likely not be something I enjoy. I don't want to hate my life when I get to that point. What should I do? Can anyone help me out?

Why is it when they mention black/white relationships it's always a black man and a white woman? I know it's more common than white man/black woman relationships, but no one ever seems to give those relationships (white male/black female) any credit nor acknowledge them. Why is that? There's nothing wrong with either, but why does the latter always get more credit?

I'm half Puerto Rican from my father and part Italian, part Irish from my mother. I'm light skinned, have brown hair and hazel eyes, but I also know Spanish, I tan well in the summer, and I don't look completely white nor do I look the stereotypical Puerto Rican. What race would you consider me? I'm just curious.
