Hi, reading a book that I think is supposed to be set in London, and some of the phrases/words are just so not what I am used to...
Just want to know what it means when they say, "She went in the tube to Hatchards to buy books."
What is a tube?? Is that a bus??
Please clarify..thanks!!

I am going on my fourth language now and I've noticed that with all of them, once you know over a 1000 basic words you can usually converse at a basic level. Around 3000 and your at
a mid-high conversational level but still no where near fluent yet.
My estimation for near fluency would be at least 10,000 to 15,000 words.
What do you think?

I am naming my cottage as per tradition and it is located on a road with a latin name, so I thought it would be appropriate if it had a latin name. My research came up with " fragmentum di caelum", but i just tried translating the words. I am not sure if this is right. Thank you for your time.
