Is it important to learn the grammar when learning a new language or should we just learn all the phrases and words ?

For example, Spanish, I understand= yo entiendo
so should we just memorize the phrase or learn step-by-step like entender means to understand, it is an irregular verb so we need to add an i between t and e. and change the last er to o for meaning "I" and know that yo is just for emphasizing !!!

English too, must people think pural in english in add s. but not all are like that. for words that end in x,ch,sh, will be es. and if it end in y, we have to cut y and add ies !!!!

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I have yet to find more than about three questions that do not feature spelling mistakes, terrible grammar and/or incorrect punctuation. The most common crimes against language are the utilisation of 'your' in place of 'you are' and getting 'their, there and they're' mixed up. Lots of people neglect to use capital letters too. Don't even get me started on punctuation! And apostrophes! I don't mind the odd slip up when it comes to correct English, but I have read loads of questions that I just didn't understand due to poor grammar. On one occassion, somebody wrote this giant paragraph, about twenty lines long, and there was not one full stop, comma, colon or semi-colon within it. I mean, I know you can use conjunctives and whatnot, but it's getting ridiculous! Does anyone else feel this frustrated, or is it just me...?

Ok, rant over :)

Hello. I'm interested in and am doing research on Dutch youth, street and college slang for a project I'm working on.

Does "slagmot" mean "fighting girl" in Dutch, and is this a Dutch slang term? Please let me know. Thank you. :D

Please forgive me for being ignorant here as I am interested to learn Mandarin Chinese later in life, but in learning Spanish I realized the there are many types of Spanish peoples and with that comes many types of the language, but when it comes down to it it's all relative.

How much difference is there in the Oriental languages? Are Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Asian and others all relatively the same with minor differences? Or are they completely different?

This is from a song called "Delírio" by Vanessa Da Mata.

I tried translating myself but could only get so much. What is the WHOLE song generally about?:

Dá o seu gosto de desejo
Dá o seu beijo despojado
Seus pensamentos mais intensos
O seu rosto de pecado

Nos gemidos que desordenam
Nas mãos que me fazem entender Adão
A música expondo seu corpo ao delírio
Nas incontáveis formas de se divertir
