well, if you want to study italian language...you have to love it!
I'm italian...I love my language but the grammar is so hard!!
..if you're italian it takes you at least 10 years of school to speak it properly!verbs are the hardest thing..
..if you are not...it's ok: you can always say" I'm sorry for my mistakes, I'm not italian!":)! I'm not saying it's impossible: you simply have to love it and you won't have any proplems !!
as far as the food is concerned.... definetely the best!
non c'è storia ....:) siamo un popolo di buongustai

Italian language is a Romance language spoken by about 63 million people,[2] primarily in Italy. In Switzerland, Italian is one of four official languages. It is also the official language of San Marino. Standard Italian, adopted by the state after the unification of Italy, is based on Tuscan dialect and is somewhat intermediate between Italo-Dalmatian languages of the South and Northern Italian dialects of the North.
Unlike most other Romance languages, Italian has retained the contrast between short and long consonants which existed in Latin. As in most Romance languages, stress is distinctive. Of the Romance languages, Italian is considered to be one of the closest resembling Latin in terms of vocabulary,[3] though Romanian most closely preserves the noun declension system of Classical Latin, and Spanish the verb conjugation system (see Old Latin), while Sardinian is the most conservative in terms of phonology.
lthough Italian cuisine does have defining features that are found throughout the country, it is composed of highly varied regional cuisines. The cuisines reflect the cultural variety of its regions and its diverse history with culinary influences from numerous civilizations. The cuisine is highly seasonal and the dishes of each region reflect this diversity of the seasons. Some of the ingredients that have become key to Italian cuisine were only introduced after the discovery of the New World; such items include tomatoes, maize (used for polenta), bell peppers, and potatoes. Prior to the discovery of the New World though, items such as bread, pasta, wine, olive oil and cheese were already important components. Coffee, and more specifically espresso, culture has become highly important to the cultural cuisine of Italy.
