Also, what don't you want to receive as a gift?

Every year my husband and I travel to my grandparents house for Christmas brunch with my family (about a 1 hour trip south) and then turn around and travel back to my husbands familys house for Christmas dinner (about 2 hours north). We are usually pretty exhausted by the end of the day from travelling and we are so over it! So this year I suggested that everyone meet at our house for presents and then we could all go to a restaurant around our area (in the middle of everyone) and that way everyone gets to relax.
Everyone rejected this idea (because it's too expensive, or they have kids and don't want to go out).
Anyway the point is, that we are sick of soing what everyone else wants and want to have our type of Christmas this year. Is this selfish and does anyone have any other solutions?
Thanks and Happy Holidays!!

I ussualey forget that death could be anytime. BUt sometimes on those sleepless nights I think that one day I'll be 6 ft under.
i think th ething that scares me most about death and th egrave is not just th epunishment. The fact that i have to face it alone in a dark grave. Sometime si cry because I hate being alone. But sometimes i think that Im going to go to jannah but then i dont really know. How bout if i go to hell.
i mean everyone has plans for th efuture. But they dont know wat will happen.
The question is wat can i do to stop being scared of death? i know its painful to die and leave all ur loved ones because even the prophet said truley death brings agony when he died. And he was th eRASUL!! SO how can we get over th efeeling of this world and think more of the here after? How can we be prepared for death whenever it comes. How can we be joyous of dieing and meeting our Lord?
jazakallah
Hope I see u all in jannah!!!

Every soul shall taste death

Salaam,
I have been considering wearing a hijab for some time now but I'm still a little unsure. Atm, I wear indian/pakistani type tunic and trousers with head scarf but my hair is not fully covered. I have seriously been considering wearing the hijab but as you may have read from my previous question, my family aren't exactly...supportive. I want to cover myself properly for the sake of Allah but I don't know how my family will take this. What shall I do? Any advice would be great, thanks!

for me to be interested in my religion??? Well is it??? Sorry if I'm sounding annoyed but the fact is I AM annoyed. I am a Muslim (Alhumdulillah), my purpose in life is to worship my Lord. I do my level best to pray Salat 5 times daily, I recite Quran, I like learning about Islam etc, but some members of my family make fun of me. Sometimes if it's almost time for Salat, I don't go shopping because to me, Salat is more important than shopping and besides it doesn't take long, unlike shopping does. If I'm out, I'll make an effort to pray Salat if I have wudu and if I can find a suitable place. I try never to miss Salat, but if for some unavoidable reason I do miss it, I always make up for it. I always wake up for Fajr. Since the last couple of years I've made it my aim to recite the entire Quran at least once a year by Ramadan. I enjoy learning about Islam. But some of my family make fun of me for taking my religion so seriously. Sometimes if I don't wanna go out cuz it's time for Salat

12 /24=3/4 if added 1+2=3 and 2+4=6
therefore 3 of 6= 666 and if christ was born on christmas day what do you think of this concept?

You may have seen my question earlier; What food did the pilgrims eat? Again, this is for my class project on pilgrims. I'm in 6th grade and we have to find a ton of info about games, people and the foods that the pilgrims ate. at the end of our unit we will share our work with each other and then have a feast of the traditional foods the pilgrims ate. please help!
