I have heard many references to the Queen's Christmas speech. Could someone please flesh it out a bit? Is it a well-wishing kind of thing? Is it inspirational?

I am 21 now and I haven't read the whole Quran yet. I only know Juzuu Amma and I memorize most of it. Whenever, I decide to read it. I start with Sura al Baqara and finish half of it and then I stop. Arabic is my first language but I find it hard to read it and I often have to read the same Aya more than once to understand it. I though it is time consuming as I am a university student and I have to study a lot and my eyes and brain need rest.
How often do you read the Quran and do you find it easy to understand it?
Thank you
Salaam

trying to be politically correct is causing us to get rid of terms like 'merry christmas' and replacing it with 'happy holidays' and christmas tree with holiday tree... what do you think about that?

I'm planning to put a sign on my window this Christmas season. Along with Christmas lights on my window i will be putting a sign saying Merry Christmas & in parenthesis it will say not that P.C Happy Holidays stuff. Some have liked the idea while others say I'm looking for trouble even though that's not what I'm trying to do. What do you think?

Do you think the PC brigade will pass comment on this because it 'offends other religions' as they say to so many other attempts to keep Christmas? Or is time that we started to oppose the PC brigade and their ideas?

Example: We have about 25 people that we have to buy for this year including parents, siblings and their spouses and children. How do we determine what is the appropriate amount to spend on each person? I know we normally spend more on our parents, but money is tight this year, and we need to "pinch pennies" where we can without being rude or disrespectful. Its hard because you dont want to get somebody a $25 gift card and they got you a $50 gift card. I personally think that having to buy for everybody is completely ridiculous, but you have certain people in the family that would be offended if they bought for you and you didnt buy for them... I dont even enjoy the holidays much anymore because its all about the presents, and everybody forgets the TRUE meaning of Christmas... but I still need ideas?!?

I want to decorate my home with class. I want it to look expensive and tasteful, but I don't have unlimited funds. What color scheme should I use. I think the traditional red and green get so over used. Any suggestions?
