I am having the big dinner at my house and plan to serve over twenty. I generally prefer to serve this many people in a buffet style so that there aren't tons of dishes cluttering the table and I don't have to jump up every few minutes to refill a dish. My mother in law has been vocal this year about meals only being served family style and how much she hates buffet style. She takes offense easily and sulks if she doesn't get her way. I seem to offend her frequently without meaning to - I am apparently too blunt for her and should tiptoe around her feelings and phrase things differently. Two years ago she pouted and sulked through the meal and left early because I had someone carve the turkey in the kitchen (where everyone was gathered) and not at the table. I am stressed already and Thanksgiving is weeks away. Can anyone offer any insight or suggestions? Thanks.

I work in a small art office that contains three male coworkers, including the boss. I don't know if I should give them a gift card, candy or liquior, but i want to give them something that is within a certain proce range. I am in need of a Christmas Miracle. I am a single mother of 4 children. I work full time and bring home mabey 300.00 a week. I have one child who is ADHD/Bi-Polar and with his Dr. appts and problems at school I miss alot of work! I struggle very hard to keep my family togeather and pich every penny as hard as I can. I have tried so many different avenues for assistance, and yet have found none. I am so tired of looking my children in their eyes and telling them no we can't or mommy cant afford it, only for them to turn around and tell me it's okay mommy, it will get better, I will get bigger and help you. My 5 year old once told me she would go without lunch to save me money, ouch, that hurt my heart. I am not one to really ask for HELP but , I cannot stand the thought of my children going without this year, heck I would be grateful for some winter coats and shoes for them. My bills are so far behind that I am afraid to answer my phone, afraid my car will be repoed.PLEASE HELP US!!!!

the holidays come sooner and sooner every year. remember when you were young and the official christmas season started the day after thanksgiving? when people put up decorations and stores magically transformed overnight? is it just me or, was it just more special then? with everyone trying to get such a huge head start these days, it's just not the same anymore.

my husband is 54, he doesnt drink or smoke, so cant buy the obvious. he has loads of socks and underpants and coats and other clothes, and shoes so he doesnt need any of those items! ( or hats ) he loves the garden and growing veg and flowers he is into green issues and recyled things.he also follows a football team, man city,but what do i get ? i have tried looking on some gift sites but not really seen anything ..i need your help !! i havent a clue what to get him!
