My boyfriend and I have been together for a while, but I've only met his parents once. He's from a different country, like a completely different continent, so they don't come to the US often. They asked me to come to their house for Christmas, so I don't know what I should get them for Christmas.

if so you you might want to check the local customs...
if they are coming here... i always like giving a poinsetta as a gift. they make lovely presents and people always like receiving them PLUS they last so long after christmas that they will always have the memory!

Sounds like you will be traveling to a foreign country so it will have to be small. Ask your boyfriend for some ideas of what they would want and what would be appropriate. You will need to be careful of packing breakables or food. A beautiful book that is about your state might be nice for them to show their friends where their son lives. Perhaps a nice table linen for his mother if you know the table size. If they celebrate Christmas with a tree you could take special ornaments. A lot depends on their traditions.

It doesn't have to be anything really expensive. A basket of fruit would be nice. I would suggest a nice bottle of wine as well, but you haven't given me much information, so I am not sure if wine would be appropriate.

I send my boyfriend's parents hampers every year without fail and they just love it. I have sent them food hampers and flowers hampers with chocolates. This year i am planning to send them a teddy bear hamper with a bottle of wine.

ask your boyfriend their favorite restaurant and get them a gift certificate. or if they like movies get them a move certificate.
