For the girls, you could start them on a new collection. My babysitter when I was younger used to get me a new (small) music box to add to my collection each Christmas. You could pick something that matches their personalities (butterflies, ballerinas, whatever) and then from here on out, get them something to add to their collection each birthday/Christmas.

For the 2 year old, something educational might be good! Like something by the Little Einsteins. The educational toys they have these days aren't boring at all! I know my nieces love them anyways. :o)

Good luck!

How about starting a nice tradition of getting each child a special Christmas ornament? That way when they get married and have a family of their own they can put it on their own tree... My husbands family does this every year. Our tree is just magnificient with all different kinds of ornaments from all over the world.. We do this for our children as well. If you want to do something more then I would suggest getting them each a special book. Books inspire the imagination- even for little ones especially when read to the children. Get a nice hardcover selection for each child like fairytales or classic stories... Plus the parents will LOVE that books don't need batteries... ! Good luck

9 years, 2 years, and 5 months? Toys would most likely be best. For the boy and the smallest girl, make sure that there are no small parts that can be removed from the toys, but I'm sure you already knew that.

Sorry, I'm probably not much help, but at those ages I got angry when I didn't get toys for Christmas =P

Hope I helped.

That's a lot to spend on them. I like games and books best for kids; it teaches them to entertain themselves without the tv. Perhaps a book apiece and a family game?
