I don't have a lot of extra money this year with the price of gas and heating oil. Any good ideas for homemade christmas gifts for my family? I can't sew or knit or anything. I have alot of old family photos I might be able to use.

If you have a lot of old family photo's why not BURN them onto CD/DVD's for your family? That way everyone has them and can easily view or print them ! You can also get inexpensive collage frames and scan/print the photo's or have them scanned/printed at a lab.. I like making them all black/white and frame them as well. .Photo's are a really great and inexpensive gift... Or you can do both.... The cost of CD'S/DVD's is pennies and a nice collage frame you can get at any craft store. If you have a Michaels craft store check out the Sunday circulars for 40% off coupons and start buying a frame here and there. Also Bed, Bath and Beyond has nice frames and you can use up to 5 discount coupons at a time.... Kohl's has nice frames as well. Good luck

Omg I did this the year before last and last year my family was upset i didn't do it again. I made gifts in a jar, everyone recieved one cookie and one soup. Be sure to look in a thrist store or maybe on ebay for canning jars, that may save you some more money. Here are some sites to get you started, when looking over the recipes make sure there are lots of color so they layer. Also when you are finished ith them try cutting squares of cloth and putting them on the top with a rubberband, unfortunatly they can't really be wrapped because you don't want them shaken up.

why not make a photo slide show DVD for the family using all your old and new photos. you can get a program for the computer, and you'll need a scanner too (maybe you can borrow someones). it lets you put different music to it and has all kinds of transition effects. I did this one year for my family and they absolutely LOVED it! We watched it on the DVD player and just left it run for awhile, older people loved to see the pictures on the TV all blown up! get all the old photos you can to put on it! or what about getting an ornament made of a good old family photo for each of them. I saw at Sams Club they do those, I'm sure Walgreens does too. Whichever you choose you can give that along with a tin of home made goodies like cookies and fudge!

I know you said you cant sew or knit, you don't have to to make this hat!! Try it, if I can do it so can you!! http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=10034.

You could make them in solid colors or any style you choose. Great gift for girls of any age!! If you don't like that idea there are many more to chose from at the same website..
