My favorite holiday is Christmas. Not because I give and receive gifts at this time of year, but becuase everyone seems to be a little more giving, they have more compassion for their fellow man, and they seem to care more during this time than at any other. People become less selfish and less concerned about themselves and more concerned about other people. And even though it may be cold and snowing outside, inside your heart you feel all warm and cozy becuase you know that their are good people out there, and this is the season in which they shine.

Thanksgiving. I do not cook so all I do is show up with a bottle of booze or a pie, and I have a good time and a good meal. Most of the other holidays involve me spending large amounts of money and lots of time shopping.

I love Christmas, but I would have to say my favorite is Thanksgiving because you still have the nice cool weather, good food, family, etc. but none of the stress of gift giving yet!

I like Thanksgiving because it's short and to the point, and you don't have to connect it to any religion. You can be thankful to somebody for saying or doing something nice. You can be thankful to your parents for not drowning you after that tantrum you threw in the market when you were four.

After that, I like Arbor Day. There are no TV specials or gross sentimentality, and my wife doesn't decorate the house.

The Sun Dance. It is a gathering of many tribes in celebration of hard work and pride. It is the most beautiful celebration.

Thanksgiving is a celebration of death and carnage...not my favorite.
