I am in need of a Christmas Miracle. I am a single mother of 4 children. I work full time and bring home mabey 300.00 a week. I have one child who is ADHD/Bi-Polar and with his Dr. appts and problems at school I miss alot of work! I struggle very hard to keep my family togeather and pich every penny as hard as I can. I have tried so many different avenues for assistance, and yet have found none. I am so tired of looking my children in their eyes and telling them no we can't or mommy cant afford it, only for them to turn around and tell me it's okay mommy, it will get better, I will get bigger and help you. My 5 year old once told me she would go without lunch to save me money, ouch, that hurt my heart. I am not one to really ask for HELP but , I cannot stand the thought of my children going without this year, heck I would be grateful for some winter coats and shoes for them. My bills are so far behind that I am afraid to answer my phone, afraid my car will be repoed.PLEASE HELP US!!!!

Seriously (and I was a Long Term Single Parent also -- of two children with disabilities -- one was High Functioning Autistic (Asperger's Syndrome), and the other had ADHD (and there were other physical problems -- including their hearing) ...

I, too, know what this is like ... and you need to start by looking at the Salvation Army (They will announce (or you can look them up in the phone book and CALL) for the registration for their Christmas Gift Program for Children -- they are put in Wal-Marts, Targets and other Discounter Stores around your area .. just go in and see (usually they start advertising registering your children about this time of year).

TAKE your monthly bills with too -- you will need that to PROVE that you are in need.

Also ... the state may have some assistance available to you for your children's medical problems. I know that State Child Support Enforcement does what they can -- where is the bio father -- and why isn't he providing for them (they can move you up in priority for tracking him down with DOCUMENTED Medical Needs of the Children --- but you HAVE to apply and PROVIDE all the information they ask you for).

Bless you for doing this on your own. TRY any Service Organization (But especially the Salvation Army) and try also with Child Support Enforcement as well (but realize this -- Child Support Enforcement will take months to get anything started).

Good Luck. (Been there, done that ... and yes, it was embarassing, but I did apply and have my own children in the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program for a couple of years after my divorce ... especially since I had to purchase my way out of that short disaster of a marriage).

In today's society you need a computer to live. Do not sell your computer like people have suggested. There are charities out there for people in your position. My step-sister works with one every year. I don't know where you live, but use the link at that another poster provided.

What you need is to find a better job. $300.00 a week cannot provide for a family of five. Go to school in the evenings (if you can have a family member watch your children) and get a degree. The state, I'm pretty sure, would pay for you to go. I'm not here to tell you how to live, I just want you and your children to have a better life.

Seriously, i dont mean to be rude! But why dont you sell your computer, easily you can sell it for over 200 dollars.

Disconnect the internet, and save yourself over ten dollars of monthy payments.

Use internet cafe pc, library computer or a friends computer!
