I am in need of a Christmas Miracle. I am a single mother of 4 children. I work full time and bring home mabey 300.00 a week. I have one child who is ADHD/Bi-Polar and with his Dr. appts and problems at school I miss alot of work! I struggle very hard to keep my family togeather and pich every penny as hard as I can. I have tried so many different avenues for assistance, and yet have found none. I am so tired of looking my children in their eyes and telling them no we can't or mommy cant afford it, only for them to turn around and tell me it's okay mommy, it will get better, I will get bigger and help you. My 5 year old once told me she would go without lunch to save me money, ouch, that hurt my heart. I am not one to really ask for HELP but , I cannot stand the thought of my children going without this year, heck I would be grateful for some winter coats and shoes for them. My bills are so far behind that I am afraid to answer my phone, afraid my car will be repoed.PLEASE HELP US!!!!

Get a hold of the Salvation Army or the Red Cross in your area. They can help you with the Holidays, plus they know good resources to help with your other problems as well.

If you can, get involved with a good, caring church. Churches are designed to help families in need and a good church will adopt your family as their own. I know the United Methodist Churches are pushing community outreach big time this holiday season. That might be a good place to start!

Good luck! Merry Christmas!

Instead of getting more credit go and talk to these people first and tell them what is going on. They will think you are very brave if you pick up the phone on Monday and said I need HELP!

If you get in control of the situation, then the situation cannot get in control of you.

If you talk to local welfare officers, council, every charity that helps out for Christmas, they would be able to put you in touch so you can get grants for your 4 kids every year. Just keep banging on at them; in the end they will help you out.

Can you get free school meals? How about free uniform? Can you cut your hours so you are with your kids? Can you claim benefit without worrying. What are the school doing? They should be supporting you as well and if not, email me and I will draft u a letter so you can cut & paste and tell them that you need help now. How about getting some more financial support from the government? There is so much help out there for single mothers.

How about some counselling for you as well. I am not trying to tell you to suck eggs but you have to well in order to look after others. So come on how about it?

For next year and start NOW. Why not get a bank account so you are not allowed to touch the money only once a year as well so you can put so much away each month so you will not be broke. I do it every year and it does work.

Sorry to ask but where is the dad?

Go to all the charities you can think off and BE BRAVE. Go to charity shops and get their coats.

You can do it. You are doing such a great job bringing 4 kids into the world and I am very proud of you.

To break this cycle of debt, and also this never ending cycle you need some moral support, you need to get in a positive state of mind. Do not let it beat you; you've come this far.

YOU CAN DO IT!

Why not try these people. The Consumer Credit Counselling Service is a registered charity whose purpose is to assist people who are in financial difficulty by providing free, independent, impartial and realistic advice.

Get as much help as you can.

Blessed Be X

Call the united way in your town for a referral. It's too late to apply for the Salvation Army christmas programs (done in Oct) and the submissions are already done for the Hundred Neediest Cases (also in Oct). You may be able to find a church or a private charity to sponsor your family.
