I give homemade gifts every year. The people my husband works with were actually disappointed the year when we didn't do homemade cookies for the holidays, so now I make sure that the homemade gifts get priority over the store bought stuff.

We give huge tray/tins of cookies to colleagues & friends. My younger brother loves biscotti, so I make a double batch just for him. My dad lives in FL, so I do all of his holiday baking & send it down. Plus, we bring cookies with us to holiday parties as hostess gifts.

Over the past year I have started scrapbooking & making cards, so this year a few people will be getting sets of personalized notecards.

In the past I have also made candles, soaps, chocolates, other baked goodies, flavored vinegars, jam, pickles, decorations, & goodie baskets.

I believe that homemade gifts are the way to show the true meaning of the season, and that someone meant enough to you for you to spend your time making something, vs your money buying something.

Yes I do actually, and a lot of them. Half the time it is so hard to tell what people want, so I usually get them a gift card and some yummy home made gift. It started out as a couple people getting the homemade treats for gifts, but every year more friends and family ask for. Kids, I buy store bought gifts.

By the way, I love the homemade gifts more. You will never get the wrong, style, brand or size!

When I was in school, I used to make pumpkin bread for all my bus drivers and teachers. I actually had bus drivers tell me they wanted my route so they could get it each year!

I still make homemade gifts, 30 years later, but they're a little different now. I cross-stitch a lot, and for the last several years I've cross-stitched patterns on sweatshirts for the whole family--antique cars, quilt patterns, cartoon characters, flowers, you name it.

Yes, it has more meaning to me than just buying something. And it is easier to give to people, who like my grandmother has everything.
