If you mean environmentally conscious, then here are a few things you can do:

If you decorate outdoors, convert your lights to energy saving LED lights (they will cost 5x more, but they do conserve electricity).

Operate your decorations on a timer to reduce usage.

Weigh the alternatives of a real tree (which is recyclable) vs an artificial tree (which may produce more VOCs, but is reusable year after year).

Do not over cook for the holidays.

When traveling, plan your trips to minimize fuel usage

Turn the thermostat down to 65 degrees to minimize fuel consumption.

Recycle bows and ribbons from gift wrap. Recycle gift paper and boxes.

Recycle your real tree for mulch, if you use a real tree.

Consider the use of computerized light controllers as they will greatly reduce your energy consumption.

When watching a computerized display, turn off your car engine.

Recycle everything, buy nothing new, for starters. And if you must buy, buy those things that you can recycle from year to year yourself, or buy things that have already been recycled.
Use recycled paper to wrap presents, and be sure to dispose of the papers you use in the right bin. Use newsprint, brown paper, twine, all natural, and all recyclable, or already has been.
And watch the packaging that things come in, I bought some boxed ornaments that had enough cardboard around them for two sets. I will use it to store the ornaments in.
I have artificial trees, the one, which I call the Charlie Brown Tree, it is so decrepit it goes out on the breezeway, and covered with ornaments and lights, it looks pretty good from the street. It is 30 years old. I think I have probably saved a lot of trees in 30 years, me and Charlie.
I collect ornaments, so there is not a new bunch of decorations every year.
Watch how many lights you put on the tree and outside, burn them only when you and the public will see them. Put limits on how much, how many. I like one idea, the people decorate their garage door every year, and put one spotlight on it. Very economical, the only other decoration is a wreath on the door. And out in the fancy section of town, that is another thing to do, one very nice wreath, one small spotlight. Very tasteful, and eco-friendly. and safe, no burglar is going to come in tha way!

Make sure your Christmas tree is shredded for garden chips and your used Christmas card recycled.
Buy local produce and organic produce for dinner - use eco friendly products for clearing up afterwards.
Use gift bags that can be reused rather than wrapping paper that has to be thrown away.
Buy presents with as little packaging as possible.
Have lots of people round so there is only your oven tv etc in use that day.
Play games so the tv can go off for a while.
Lastly dont drink too much - you dont want your face to be green as well!
Have a great Yule.

Try and buy all your food from local suppliers so you know it hasnt travelled for miles. Stock up on some now and freeze because some veg are going to be in short supply this winter. Buy recycled wrapping paper and cards, recycle all the paper and cardboard, take all your (empty) booze bottles to the recycling plant just simple things like that really. Drink enough booze and you wont feel the cold so wont need the heating on either.

Do you mean environmentally? Buy recycled wrapping paper and cards. If you get a real tree then get it shredded into chips. Make paper decorations. It can all go into the recycling bin afterwards. If you have left overs, throw them into the compost heap.
