If you are worried about it, why not get a fake Christmas tree this year, and wait until she's a bit older to get a real one? The store bought ones last a long time too, we still have ours from years ago and it's in great shape.
Also, if you are worried about her getting near it and knocking it over, just put up a small little gate around the tree that she can't crawl through/over.

This is one of those situations that you won't know unless you try. Most people (adults & children) are not allergic to the smell of pine, but rather to the oils in the needles, if they are allergic at all.
Since at 4 mos she isn't old enough to be crawling over to the tree & climbing it I would say go with the real tree. If you are overly concerned, talk to your pediatrician and ask for his/her advice.

Of course it is. As long as you keep your eye on her so she doesn't pull or push the tree over...or get to the lights. They love all the colors and the fact that its new and different, but being that she's only 4 months, they need constant supervision at that age, anyways. So you shouldn't have any problems.

my sister & sister in law both have toddlers and they've always had real christmas trees..it probably depends on the child.
you dont know until you try, and i doubt that anyone gets serious reactions to it

mostlikely not....just remember though to keep your most expensive/memorable decorations at the top of the tree so your daughter won't have the chance to knock them off.

I havent ever heard of any. Just dont let her get ahold of any decorations - most are made in china out of goodness knows what. But by keeping them up it should be fine.

Somehow generations of people were raised without obsessing over every little thing. Relax, just take reasonable precautions.
