I'm in 6th grade and we have to find a ton of info about games, people and the foods that the pilgrims ate. at the end of our unit we will share our work with each other and then have a feast of the traditional foods the pilgrims ate. please help!

You will need to search for reliable websites. Although at least 3 of the 102 passengers (half were Puritans, the others were "Strangers" or non-believers...Today most are non-believers!) I know little about what happened and have to research things. (www.RevJohnRobinson is one of the sites I frequent)
Here is a site I found through google:
http://www.scholastic.com/scholastic_thanksgiving/feast/slideshow.htm
Here is what it says..."There is only one written acount of the first Thanksgiving, and turkey isn't mentioned. And cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes weren't even invented yet! In addition to duck and venison, the diners likely enjoyed seafood, cabbage, onions, corn, and squash." (No. 6 on the slideshow]

From what I have read in other websites and historical books, one of the sea foods was eel!
So, except for "cabbage, onions, corn, and squash" I do not eat any of the foods they probably served; there are no "traditional" Thanksgiving foods to eat, other than those vegetables.
I do know from my history books that the people in England lived about half (or even only a third) as long as the Puritans who settled at Plymouth (Plimouth to them) and one of the reasons, besides hard work and faith, was due to those vegetables, most notably PEAS. They would eat peas morning, noon, and night!
Hope this helps

well were learning about that in school too but were in advanced 5th grade.is it ok if i give you alottttttt of info?
the colonys name was the plymouth colony.
the reason they are in america because they didnt want to go to the church of england so they moved to holland.the pilgrims woried their kids wouldnt learn english ways in holland so they decided to move to Virgina (united states)
on the mayflower. But they did not land in virgina instead they landed in cape cod.
once they landed they chose a land with fesh water and open fields.but their choice was a poor choice. many of the colonist did not no how to work on that marshy land.so the first winter they starved.
but in the spring they met indiands and got help
2 of the indiands were
1. samoset (they both knew english one of them learned it from being a slave)
2.squanto
they lived in peace together until more colonist arrived and this led to fights that turned into wars

the pilgrims worked together sharing /splitting food untill some of them conplained about doing more work than others
then everyone split the land and every man for himself.

-if you dont have a land to plant crops on you dont EAT!

William Bradford-leader in the colony(governor)fought for pilgrims religous ideas.

they ate corn, and fish and other crops

1691 plymouth colony became so big it ended up as Massachusettes bay Colony

here is a website with the food they ate (scroll down and look at the food they ate then search it on the world wide web

i do hope your class has learned that there were no pilgrims at the first thanksgving...it was held before the pilgrims ever left england! the real first thanksgiving was in virginia-at a place known as berkley plantation in what is now charles city county!
