My father in law sent a visa gift card and cashiers check to us for Christmas, it was in a Christmas card and he sent it out USPS ( he didnt know to send it priority or with signature confirmation). It was sent out on Dec. 6th and still hasn't shown up. I know if it was lost or stolen he can lodge a complaint with the USPS. To get a re issued cashiers check he has to wait 90 days for a new one.... so my question is.... Should we tell him to cancel the check in case it was stolen? Or wait it out with the slim chance that it just has taken a really really long time to arrive? Have you had first class mail take this long to arrive? I think it coulda been stolen because it was almost $300 worth of gift cards and checks, do you think I am right to think this? (We live in Texas, he lives in Pennsylvania)

I usually hear a lot about Kwanzaa but this year I'm not hearing much, it's just "Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah." but not Kwanzaa. A couple of years ago there was a lot of Kwanzaa celebrations going on. This year I haven't heard one peep of Kwanzaa. Too bad because there are some great values to live by.

I need a good Christmas gift for my mom and fast! She is in her 40s or so and I'm 13. I'm working off a non existent budget, but I do have good credit with dad (some $200) from office work....lol, anyway, what can I get her from a place like Wal-Mart or Circuit City or Barnes and Nobles/Books a Million or anything like that?
