Maybe a little. You sound very grounded. I like that but as a parent I will say that Christmas gift opening is Sooo much fun to watch a little kid open the paper and see the look on their face.
The problem with this is that is can lead to present overload and make the child feel that the whole day revolves around them. Maybe you have the right way but it is fun to let the little one believe ( It makes them clean their room if they think that Santa wont come).

I guess it is kind of selfish but I like letting them believe.

I have a 6 year old who started asking about the dept store Santa's. After I tried the "santa has many helpers' approach - I finally told her that Santa was not "real" but the spirit of Santa Clause is. And because Santa means different things to different people, that she was free to think of Santa in the way that brought her happiness. You too are free to think of Santa as part of the magic of Christmas. So it's not too late for you to capture the wonder that lives in a child. You didn't miss out on anything then and you don't have to now. Merry Christmas to you and here's wishing you fun and happiness of the Season and all it means to you.

Everyone remembers the day they found out there was no Santa Clause. What I told my daughter when she asked was that there was a man who gave toys to the children. Now we give toys to different places like the blue Santa and the Salvation Army so that the kids that do not have toys can. Santa Clause is suppose to be a symbol of giving and hopefully that will never leave your heart even if you never believed in the Santa Clause I hope you believe in giving to others whose parents cannot afford to take them to the store to pick out their gifts and realize how lucky you are.

I don't think so. I was raised to believe that Santa was a real person, and when I was eight years old and found out that my parents had lied to me all those years, I was pissed off! Even as a little girl, I hated them for lying to me! Maybe I'm an exception, but even so, if not believing in Santa the worst thing that's happened to you in 13 years, you're doing fine.

If you were brought up being taught the true meaning of Christmas then that is best. Also - it is better to know your parents bought you things they could afford because they love you so much then wondering why you didnt get as much as little suzie. Why didnt Santa like you that much?

Santa could be fun but it can also be sad if a child puts too much into money and amount of gifts and off of Christ.

Santa Clause was a fun thing to think about as a child, but you didn't miss out on much. You can still try to believe in Santa Clause, but if that doesn't work do you believe in the Easter Bunny?

In a way you did. Believeing in santa was a chance to believe that magic is possible. Every child at one point or another believed in some type of magic. 90% of the time that belief was in santa. Santa also added to Christmas spirit of giving. Make sure when you have children that they believe in santa trust me it is fun to see the look on their faces when they see that "santa" has brought them a gift. Good look kid.

Not really. Santa's overrated anyway. I guess I only believed in Santa until I was like 4 or 5 - I don't even remember believing in Santa. That's really not what Christmas is all about anyway.

The non-believers I meet, think that to believe you have to have a thing called faith. They say they wish they had it, but you know they don't; in fact, while they are talking, their faces and hands are telling you how superior they feel in their non-believing, and how immature, how naive they find you. They discovered some time back that Santa Claus is only a device to sell the goods in a store, and they say that God is only a device to keep you quiet; a way of shutting your mouth so that you will let the world go on. Then if  227  you stir them, they turn on you, and rage against God (in Whom they do not believe) for allowing such things as venereal disease and poverty and war.

I don't know why some people have faith and others don't. The Báb says, 'The difference which separates believer from non-believer is knowledge.'[1] If present-day intellectuals are often unbelievers, it is because they see religion in its decay. Religion to them is strange clothing, robes and trappings, hocus-pocus; and strange ideas, complicated and irrelevant. However, in the ages of faith it is the intellectuals who believe, and lead the others: Augustine, Rumi, Dante, for instance; highly sophisticated, highly intellectual.

Yes but it is not too late for you because when you grow up and have children you can believe so they believe!

It is magical seeing the look of suprise on young children's faces as they see santa and the presents he left under the tree.

Remember the christmas spirit and pass it on to your children, don't be sad you missed out because it is up to you to change your family tradition.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
