I stay at home. I use to go out and every year it became a increasingly dismal experience.
Sometimes I take care of my grandchildren, so their parents can go out if they want to. If the children are here, we watch the Times Square ball drop, if not I'm usually asleep by then.
If you go out, be careful. Not everyone out there is sober, as I had to learn the hard way. It's a good night to stay off the roads.

I asked my sister and she said she drinks a couple bottles of pinot noir and she smokes a few and looks back on what happenned to her over the year...plans to watch the ball drop...ends up falling asleep before the ball drops....could have something to do with too much of that pino stuff. This year we are all hanging out together in snowy old Truckee Ca...9 of us...sister plus son and girlfriend from Maui, 5 kids my husband and I ....we might just all answer silly yahoo questions, bang pots and pans ....be a wild pajama party

I have a girlfriend who's made it tradition to have a get together at her house. Typically we all drink too much, wear too many layers, strip down to tank tops, hang off the stairway railing, and whistle at the hotties down the hallway until one of us locks ourselves in the bathroom and falls asleep in the tub. Well, that was last year. Hopefully this year will be a little less melodramatic now that we've all learned how to handle our liquor.

The old saying goes ...Whatever you're doing at midnight is what you'll be doing all year... so I have a fire going, wine, a tray full of goodies to nibble on, romantic music and new sexy pajamas (PG version here)...
Fireworks at midnight... at least in my mind, I can't remember ever watching the ball drop..

I drink until I drop because in my culture it's good luck to start the new year with a brutal hangover.
