This Christmas is my most memorable in that my family has finally stabilized. This is the 1st Christmas tree I've had in 7 years! I didn't have one for the 5 years my only child was in prison nor the following 2 years due to moving a lot with financial problems and her pregnancy hormonal rages. (The 7 years before that were not a picnic either with her over-the-top teenage problems).

Now she is stable, has a good, loving man and 2 wonderful sons. We all live together.and now I'm losing my sight. Now she has to take care of me in so many ways. (That's scary, for sure). My grandbabaies are the best thing to ever come into my life. We had been told my daughter couldn't ever have children. My oldest grandson is almost 3 now. He is my joy. We have a very special bond.

Faith and hope have won out. Now I have love all around me. What a wonderful transformation. What a wonderful Christmas, seeing the delight on my boy's sweet faces as they look at the Christmas tree, the presents underneath, and the beautiful lights as they throw their arms around my neck. They are my gift from God and I am content and at peace.

I have been helping the Big Guy by sitting in a red suit in malls in Australia ...

- I have had three 12 year olds ask for no gifts, but for Peace on Earth
- I have had a 58 year old woman on my lap with her over 80 year old mother for a photo with Santa
- I had a 5 day old baby in my arms tugging at my beard
- I had several children come with little gifts to give to Santa (tree decorations, drawings, chocolates)
- I have had 2 year olds screaming when getting too close to the big fat hairy guy with little fashion sense ... only to blow kisses to me once they were at a more comfortable distance
- I have had several happy mothers see their scared kids find out that Santa is a jolly fellow and finally sit for a photo after 5 visits
- I had a family of 3 kids almost in tears as they told of beautiful Christmas decorations being destroyed by vandals - then finish by wishing me a Happy Christmas
- I learnt to say Merry Christmas in several languages including for deaf children

... and all this while during Australian summer heat dressed in a North Pole suit
There are a lot of people wishing Christmas to be a time of joy for all
