This may be an extremely stupid and simple question, but what exactly does "remove the middle man" refer to? What is the middle man known as? I know, I know...probably a simple one, but I'm not sure.

Recently I was diagnosed with a fairly serious illness. My mom bought a lovely silver prayer box necklace, told me with a smile what it was, and then slipped it over her own neck! I was just kind of shocked. I thought maybe she bought it for me -- since I was the one that was sick. Can anyone tell me what the proper ettiquette is about prayer boxes?

I like Rum & Coke... ok well I LOVE Rum & Coke. But everytime I get it at a bar it's either wayyyyyyy too strong (like 50/50 or less) or way too light.

I like 1 part rum to 3 parts Coke. How do I communicate this to the bar tender?

Should I be like:
"I want a 1 to 3 rum and coke"
or
"I want a 3 to 1 rum and coke"
or am I way off track.

When I say bar, I mean a bar at a club....... wayy too loud to tell him what I want.

In the condos that I live in, each one has two parking spots assigned to them. I usually use one of mine. However, the people across the street (who also have two assigned parking spots) have three cars (one of which is a junk car that doesn't work and it's parked in one of their parking spots) and therefore one car has to park behind the others. Recently, they have decided that they will start parking in my other parking spot. They haven't asked me if that's ok with me, they just started doing it. Part of me feels like I paid for those two parking spots and I should have them whether I use them on a daily basis or not because when I have had visitors over, I have had to walk across the street and get them to move their car which can be an inconvience when I don't know ahead of time that someone is coming over. However, I also feel like I should be a good neighbor and let them use it. What do you think?

I have a serious pet peeve against family members and friends not calling me at a decent hour or at all for that matter. It has been happening to me a lot lately especially with friends. I will call them to see how their week is going and I'll try to be friendly and leave a message. Yet, they usually do not call me back. This has been bothering me a lot. I know people are busy but, can't they find 5 min tues out of their day to return a simple phone call?
Do I have a right to be angry about this?

She leaves her lights on all day when she's out of the house, and all weekend she's out of town. She says this is because her cat doesn't like being left alone in the dark.

But I know that cats have excellent night vision. They can see up to 50 times more in the dark than humans. So whether a light is on or not is really irrelavent to a cat!

I just want her to turn off her lights when she's not home, because it wastes electricity and contributes to our shared electricity bill. I know its not that much, but it does add up over time. There's no reason to waste electricity.

Am I being really anal and unreasonable here? Or do I have a legitimate concern? I tried to be nice about it when I asked her, but I think she was just annoyed.

Say you go to the restroom and you are in the middle of urinating. You look down in the bathtub and see a dead body. Do you continue peeing or pinch it off and run out? Or do you just start peeing everywhere screaming? Because it's pretty hard to just stop urinating right in the middle of it.

I am at a three week off-site training for my new job. There are about 30 guys in training and I am hanging out with a smaller group in my age bracket (mid 30s -mid 40s). I am introverted and kind of a home-body but I want to look like a team player in my new job. After training each day, for the past 3 nights, I went out with the guys to dinner then out to drinks. We get back very late and have to get up very early, plus we share a vehicle. Tonight I decided to stay in and read but have already been getting some looks from my buddies.

This is going to go on for 2 1/2 more weeks. I don't mind going out a few nights a week, but every night is wearing on me. Is there anyway to limit the number of times I am obligated to go out?

Would it be inappropriate for me to bring a voodoo doll to work that looks like my boss and keep it in my cube so that he and the other co-workers can see it when they come by to visit? I will only use it if he trys to micromanage me or acts like a stupidhead.

Any thoughts on where I can find information on what are acceptable gifts for a husband to buy for another woman?

I don't believe that my husband is cheating on me. He is, however, drawn to buying expensive gifts for people - mostly women. What tipped the scale with me is that he purchased $350 concert tix for the woman who cuts his hair. She's also married.

What floors me is not only the price, but the fact that this woman accepted the gift. I don't know what what to do really.

I had one thought. That is to go to her, ask her to pay for the tix (with my husband present). How is that?

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

If a man were to sleep with every girl in his home town, he is considered a pimp, and a player, and he gets high fives from all the boys, but if a girl were to have just even two partners, she is considered a whore.
Do you think it's fair? I think boys are just as capable as being sluts as anyone else, do you?

So here I am in a Safeway parking lot with my 15 month old daughter. Turns out I left my lights on while shopping and now my vehicle wont start. I strap my kid in her seat, pop the hood, pull out my cables and look for someone who looks handy enough to be able to figure out positive from negative cause I have no clue.
I ask 3 people who all say they have new batteries/cars that manufacturers recommend not to give boosts with.
Ok, so its like cold out, and I take my kid out of the car, go into the grocery store and ask if anyone inside can come out and give me a boost. I hear "well we're understaffed, my car is new, I have to ask the manager, why dont you have a seat."
Ok my daughter needs a change by now, and its been like 30 mins since I first discovered this problem. So I go outside again to see if theres a handy person. In this whole time no 1 offers any help, everyone just acts like an idiot. Finally a tourist from Montreal boosted my van so all kind ppl are from Montreal

I was brought up understanding that when you have guests in your house, whether its family or friends, it is proper to feed your guests. We are not talking a course meal but you should not ask them to go "halfsies" on take out or the grocery bill if they run out to get things for your visit. Once in awhile its cool to order chinese food or pizza but not every single time you visit! I have this friend (who makes good money, mind you) who for years has always asked people to bring food and/or drink with them when you come over to visit and its drives me crazy! We are planning to see each other soon at her house and I know she's gonna ask for stuff. I'm thinking of coming clean and telling her how inappropriate this is when its constant. What are your thoughts?
