Would they accept death as a reason for not turing up, or would that be unacceptable to them as well? With the outrageous waiting lists we have to endure to get a hospital appointment, I would say that it is the priority, regardless of the type of illness. That's not really their business. It could have be for an ingrown toenail or something, and you still shouldn't have to justify it.

she was well out of order
I have patients that are hard of hearing - they also have medical needs ie Diabetes- when they come to see me I have to sign a card and stamp it to prove they came- I hate doing this as I find it really derogatory to the people - they are in there 50's for gods sake - that they are not trusted. In fact I think I will write to the company and complain- see you've got me mad to now!!!!
good luck! lets hope she is never ill!!

I am sure in hindsight the advisor would agree that he was bang out of order.

I wouldn't say complain, but making someone more senior aware of the situation is what I would do.

Yes you should complain! tell them that your health is more important than an appointment with someone who is inconsiderate to your wellbeing and that you don't appreciate being made to feel guilty for wanting to get healthy!

I am in management and in charge of hiring at my company. Yes, your health is the most important thing you need to be taking care of, but you also need to realize that his top priority is looking for good work candidates. It does not send a good impression if you have to miss your first appointment.

Yes you should make a complaint. Health comes first, no matter what. I have an autoimmune disease and if I don't listen to my body, I'll just get sicker.

As with any job you need a Dr's note for missing work or job interview. But what do you think!

I'm with you. If you just hadn't bothered to turn up, I would expect it, maybe, but not if you phone to re-arrange it.
