If a man were to sleep with every girl in his home town, he is considered a pimp, and a player, and he gets high fives from all the boys, but if a girl were to have just even two partners, she is considered a whore.
Do you think it's fair? I think boys are just as capable as being sluts as anyone else, do you?

It's easier said than done just picking up and moving,
I have classes I need to tend to, and a job.
I plan to move outta here, but I need money to do that.

That's double standards for you. However, if it's any consolation, most halfway decent grown men will not have any respect for a guy that does that, and many nowadays will be a bit more openminded about women that are serial monogamists, provided they are reasonably discreet about it.

Oh yeah I hear you loud and clear... it was the same way for me in school- small town and all. I got around it when I realized that not everyone thinks this way. For me, one of the most liberating moments of my life was when I fully embraced my sexuality, stopped feeling guilty or ashamed about it (as we are raised to do) and stopped worrying what other people thought about it. I didn't flaunt, but I didn't tone it down either. It is just a part of me. I stuck with the people who could appreciate that, and let the others go their own boring ways, envying those of us who actually had sex. Having sex partners does not make you a whore, and I am glad to see that the word is starting to spread. In fact, I would argue that women who learn what they really want sexually make better partners, and are involved in much, much better relationships in the long run. It is equally important to learn about what you like, and what you do not want. People talk because they have nothing to do with their own empty, unfulfilling lives. Find people who are interested in more than what everyone else is doing. We are out there, believe me!

Na i don't think it's fair. but then i wouldn't dream of sleeping with a guy who was a dirty d i c k ,, a dirty slapper no thanks, even i have standards,, it was once upon a time a man needed to know who the father was, hence the fact of mans jealousy, a woman can always say this is my baby, but how is a man to know.but with the infections you can get now, everyone should be practising safe sex, i.e pill. implant. coil,, as well as using condoms,,, if you woman want to go out and go there ,, insist on protection,, f u c k the double standards.. use them abuse them just like they have done for years,, then you give a high five, and a two finger, up yours. and by the way , if he does'nt agree to condoms,, he's a dirty d i c k

Answer: no, it's not fair, and yes, guys can be sluts too.

I wasn't aware 2 partners makes you a whore. But who really cares? If there's that much talk about what each person does, maybe it's time for a larger home town.

This seems to be the prevailing way of behavior. But think about it: men are actually cheating themselves by doing those things. Every time a man belittles a woman by having"sex" with her, he removes one more respectable lady from his choice of future wives. And he diminishes himself too.

When people start to see that sex is a part of a loving marriage, then is when the fairness begins and the loving and real self esteem begin. Until sex is treated like what it really is, there is no real love or respect involved.

All people want and need respect and dignity.

We live in a very sexist society. Sure it's not Middle East sexist, but it is sexist nonetheless.

What's really weird about this double standard is that if a girl does not want to have sex, men often have a problem with that and call them names such as prude. But a woman who has too much sex and enjoys it, well that's a slut. Pretty sad. Let's hope that over time our society will become more equal.

This is the way the world is, dear. And it isn't likely to change. This has been the prevailing culture for as long as people have been having sex. Read The Scarlet Letter if you really want some insight to the origins of this double standard.
Incidentally, this is why ladies don't kiss and tell.

Men sluts are called gigglos I believe.
Also men thought they ruled the world and still think they do.

Double standards are really not fair... but I know of some women that do what they want, are discreet about it and are well respected. Even if something comes back to "haunt" them, it doesn't phase them one bit.

It's immature circles that tout this type of rhetoric and you're better off avoiding them.
