Many of my aquaintances often claim they are "so fat" or "so ugly" right in front of me. Most of these people are all very pretty (with and without make-up) and most are a size 5 or skinnier.

How do I reply to this without making it seem as if I'm lying? And how do I reply to somebody who says this and it's true, in my opinion? When this happens, I end up lying by saying they are not.

I'm in high school, where many teens are very insecure about themselves and are commonly "fishing" for complements. Do I give it to them, or just ignore it?

I replied poorly to a question posed and then some guy emails me with this..Do you honestly think that your answer to the person who asked what does 21 grams mean, is accurate? Did you ctually pull that out of your *** or research that? BC if it is reasearched I would love to know what book or internet site that "fact" was on, seeing you are a book nut. I am a medical student and I have held a human height in my bare hands before. The average adult human heart weighs in from 9 to 11 ounces, that is 255-312 grams. Now a newborn weighs in relativly close at 19 ounces, but not to burst your bubble, our hearts, "in reality" do not weigh anything neaar what you said. Change your answer, your embarrassing.
He doesn't even notice his typos or grammer mistakes but he is so proud that he knows that I was wrong about the weight of the human heart. Thanks for the corrections RUSS. Good thing it wasn't an english paper I was writing.

for the sake of mary,
dont you have a life? You spend all day sitting at your little keyboard in your dark room, typing in answers to questions that nobody will ever read. you type away just to fill that emptyiness that is eating away at your insides - lets get it straight - NO ONE CARES what you write here ok?
Now you get angry when you read this because the illusion you built around yourself has been shattered. Wow, you think you are so so important because you are on 'Level 5' or whatever.. Is that your only aim in your little pathetic life? Im trying to help you here, shake yourself out of this thing that has taken over your life.
You gonna 'stay on', post a few more dumb questions, answer like a expert some dumb question? say hi to your imaginary friends on yahoo. hahaha let me tell you something buster, your friends dont exist. its all in your mind. all in the mind of a empty person who sits at the keyboard all day, all night, day after day.
Ask yourself this question : WHY?

Most of us have complained about bad service, but have you made a comment, especially to a manager, about an employee's outstanding service? I'm referring to more than just a restaurant. But other places like retail. It might do well for the employee in a performance review if customers have commented on their performance.

When somebody at an event says "Good to have you here!" or "Glad you could make it!" What do you say besides 'I'm glad to be here..." ??? I always sound like an idiot because I don't know what to say!

I absolutely think it is ridiculous for someone to ask me to remove my shoes before I enter their home. This says to me " I really don't care about your comfort, your outfit, your height, your foot odor problem, I only care about my precious floors and carpets". I would NEVER ask someone to take their shoes off, except in a certain circumstance where there was excessive mud or snow which would be dragged in, even then I would probably just have some kind of mat to clean them on. I went to someones house with High heels, and without them, my pants were way too long and I looked ridiculous. I just hate this practice. HOW BOUT YOU?

My niece and I are giving my step-daughter a post-wedding shower. I believe it is customary for the bride maids or girlfriends to do it, but it just never happened so we took the job. My question is this....my husband and I paid for her wedding, gave her a gift at the wedding, bought and gave her dishes and other odds & ends for her house, would it be considered incorrect for us to NOT buy her a gift for the shower? We have already spent a great deal on her & her husband and we have 3 other children to consider. After the expenses we will incur for the shower, I feel we have done enough.....what is the proper behavior? Thanks in advance & blessings to all!

My fiance and I are planning to have a no guest wedding and I was wondering what the ettiquette would be for announcement afterwards. We would also like to have a celebration at a later date, Would it be wrong to register for gifts and include that in the invites for a celebration?

My uncle is a devout Catholic. My husband and I were both raised Catholic, but left that religion when we were both young adults. (We're in our 30s now.) We have a very strong belief and ethics system of our own, and some serious disagreements with certain tenets of the Catholic faith.
My uncle was informed of that decision many years ago, but persists in lecturing us every time we visit. Not only does he lecture us about religion, but about all sorts of other things, too.

Visiting him is no longer enjoyable. He shows little interest in learning what is important to us or our goals. He never comes to visit when invited for holidays and seems to always expect us to come to him. He shows l
With that being said, he is a kind, generous man who can be fun at times. Our kids love him, and they miss him. He stopped returning our calls or e-mails at the beginning of this year, so I suspect we have somehow offended him, but really don't know what to say or do at this point.
