When somebody at an event says "Good to have you here!" or "Glad you could make it!" What do you say besides 'I'm glad to be here..." ??? I always sound like an idiot because I don't know what to say!

What if you're not invited? Like, it's a public event that people go to-I just started going. So the ones that have been there a while are 'glad I could make it'.

"Thank you, nice to meet you." or "Thank you, nice to see you again."

"Thank you, I always enjoy coming here."

"Thank you, there's a great group of people here, I enjoy it."

If it's a public event, a possible response could be:
"What a great turn out. I am glad I could be here to support ___. It should be a great evening."

I would say "Thanks for inviting me", "I wouldn't have missed it for the world", "I've been looking forward to coming"...regardless of what you say, always say thank you and tell them you're glad they either invited you or that they are here too. P.S. You don't sound like an idiot. :)

You could still use the "Glad to be here" but you could also add "thanks for the invitation and I am looking forward to this evenings events".

I don't think you should feel "like an idiot" - I don't see anything wrong with "Thank you, I'm glad to be here".
(Otherwise you wouldn't be there - if you went of your own accord, right?!)

Just say that you're glad you could come, how nice it is where you are, and just be yourself and start a conversation!!!

Accommodate others feelings. This can sometimes be seen as supplication. It matters greatly on what's important to you.
