Such as sad movies or tv shows. Or when something sad happens to someone you know. Or even if you just see someone crying.

I'm going to her house for the first time today and I want to take something. Is this the custom in Nigeria? If so, what sort of gifts are given?

Hi, I've got a colleage who upset me last week. Some of us had some dumplings at the office as snacks. Afterwards I did both dishes, one was very larger and the other one was smaller. I didn't mind doing it. When I finished the cleaning, I asked a colleague to take them back to the office. She turned my request down saying she got her hands full when in fact she only had a small knife. I pointed to my own stuff and said I got a lot of stuff to carry. She said that I should just take one more trip to get my stuff. When she walked out of the bathroom, I glanced at her EMPTY hands and said, "Why, don't you have nothing in your hands?" She knew I was upset and we never exchanged a word ever since then. The thing is I've helped her out MORE than once, and I didn't expect her to turn my request down with such a LOUSY excuse. I wonder why she behaved in such a rude manner; especially after I'd helped her out!!! People, please tell me what you think of this woman and her manners? Thanks.

I can't stand loud people, they drive me nuts. I work in a call center, and there's this one operator who's super loud. Now, when you work in a call center, you have to speak at a normal or quieter than normal tone, because everyone around you is on the phone and they're trying to hear their callers. I asked this person to PLEASE lower the volume. It didn't do any good, she continued to be loud. I swear, she's like VA-VOOM!!!!!!! And her voice is low, so in my mind I call her Foghorn Leghorn, lol!

Finally, I switched desks with someone and no longer sit anywhere near Foghorn. I'm sane again, thank God, hehe!

In the middle of duty? What did you do?
It happened to me, I tip-toe'd on my big toes to the next bathroom-then I found relief-my friends bath towel.
Don't invite people over if you don't have toilet paper!!

This may sound stuck-up, but apparently I am quite beautiful. Almost everyday and everywhere I go, people always compliment me on how "hot", "beautiful" or "perfect" I am. I always ignore inappropriate or sleezy comments, but how do I respond to the more polite people (friends, classmates, etc)? I feel rude not having any response but anything else (even just "thank you") feels uncomfortable. And what the hell should I say whenever people ask me if I know how beautiful I am? I assure you I am not obsessed with my looks (i value my intelligence much more) and I am not a ditzy hoochie. This is an awkward topic for me...hence the anonymous question.

We all know that some people talk a lot and some don't. Why do guys always complain that it is women? I've gone on dates with shy guys that if I wasn't talking there would of been no conversation at all. What is your thought on the subject?

The person indebted to me is aware of the amount they owe me.

They asked me to let them know how much they owed me and when my credit card statement came through for the month, I relayed the information. However, they have yet to repay me or even mention the debt.

I hate bring it up repeatedly, but I need the debt to be repaid soon.

In the store I used to work at I saw peole bring babies and young children in to the store in shorts, t-shirts, or no socks or shoes on in the dead of winter! 20 degrees or less outside and icecicles everywhere. I felt like giving them a piece of my mind and they wonder why so many kids get pneumonia. I may be flying off the handle here but this goes on a lot where I live.

It's a married couple that I know from my son's preschool and they want me to possibly babysit their 2 kids (ages 5 and 3). I used to babysit them over a year ago along with other children, but my husband has told me frankly that he prefers that I not babysit them at all this time because of the following reasons:
- they would be at our house on his days off and he would prefer
not to have house full of kids on days off
- he wants his days off to be able to go and do things as a family
(just us and our 2 kids)
- he knows what I had to put up with last year when I babysat 5
kids, plus my own two for five days a week.

I am thinking, hey, this is extra money for us though and the kids are good most of the time. He is totally wanting me to tell these people no. How can I let them down gently? I have already told them "no" to watching their kids every Saturday. Now they are asking me for Sundays and Mondays. (hubbys days off).
