why is it if a man cheats he is put through hell but if a woman cheats we are suposed to just get over it?

No...cheating is cheating and it would be hypocritical (and wrong) to act otherwise. Women cheaters are just as bad as men cheaters.

Basically it depends on the partner. If the wife is a forgiving type or accepts the fact that her husband plays around, then no big hell is raised. Also if for some reason the woman cannot get enough out of the relationship and plays around and if the husband does not want to make a big issue out of it, then things will not blow up to such an extent. It all depends on the partner. In the present day set up , due to a lot of exposure people tend to waver and get into all sorts of situation ..like extra marital relationships, gay sex and what not...

Sounds like you cheated and she put you through hell then she cheated and told you to get over it because it was just paybacks.

The bottom line is, cheating is a violation of a trust, if you can't trust the person in that simple thing, you can't trust them in other things. Doesn't matter if they are male or female, or what they use as the excuse or who they blame, it's being weak, very little strength of character, and no respect for the other person.

I don't know, really. My guess would be because more men than women cheat. Men cheat because they can't keep it in their pants and aren't happy being with one woman for the rest of their lives. Women cheat because they're not being satisfied enough at home. Just a guess?

I don't think that's true. People very often just write off a man's "dalliances" as an inability to control his own urges; but if a woman messes up she's often not viewed very charitably. I guess it depends on the circle you travel in.

I don't think that's true all the time. I have been cheated on and been the cheater, either way someone gets hurt and someone gets pissed. I don't think it really matters what sex they are.
