I'm going to her house for the first time today and I want to take something. Is this the custom in Nigeria? If so, what sort of gifts are given?

Any gift will be a wonderful gift for your friend....not only nigerian but irrespective of nationality......If I were in your place, I would have chosen a lovely bouquet with an equally lovely note book.

I think flowers would be a nice gift no matter what someone's nationality. A plant is also nice and will live longer.

Not sure about the custom, but if it's something you really want her to have, it'll be a good gift. :)

I think a one year subscription to Readers Digest would be a great gift!
