If one of your co-workers is chewing loudly or eating with his/her mouth open this can be very distracting at the office. Is there a respectful way to notify this person of this annoying habit so that they may chew with their mouth closed or otherwise recognize that they are creating a loud smacking sound each time they chew?

My manager is having a baby in July, everyone at work is throwing her a baby shower. I really don't want to go. This girl thats having the baby is only 20, just got married to a scumbag. They only want a boy. If its a girl her new husband doesn't want anything to do with it and she's even talked to me about her mother raising it if it's a girl. Her husband has told us that whatever we buy them he's just going to take back to the store because they don't want any handouts even though their broke. I feel bad for this baby that's going to come into this world. My boss is making me feel bad because I'm not attending the baby shower, should I feel bad?

every year my company hosts a large convention and people from all over the world attend. i end up working 15 hour days 20 days in a row, and become a neurotic person during that time. problem is a friend from college likes to stay w/me in my small apartment for the week. she volunteers part time. but mostly it's party, party, party. i'm too stressed out during that time to deal with an unwelcome house guest. i can't think of a way to get out of the situation easily, without hurting her feelings. i can tell the truth and feel horribly guilty or lie and tell her someone else is staying with me, and suffer the consequeces of getting caught, which is more than likely to happen. please help.

Just a little thing I've noticed, so I'm taking an informal poll. Seems like the more thoughtful and relevant your question is here, the better chance you're going to get a good answer. Stupid(meaning-poorly written, ungrammatical, just plain idiotic/obvious)questions seem to be the ones that are mainly used for point-gaming. How are you supposed to answer,"Am I pretty"?
What do you think?

To which he said "No, it's time for me to get your number!"
I being the only male said "My number"
