I'm a heterosexual, but I think that people should be able to love and marry who they want no matter what sex they are. I have been ridiculed by some gays and lesbians for speaking out for them. They say I couldn't uinerstand what they are going through. Should I keep my mouth shut or keep speaking out?

many GLBT people have values that correspond to peace, spreading diversity, acceptance of all people, and equality, yet, many of us will not be able to spread those messages to future generations because many GLBT people can't and don't have children to pass their beliefs on to?
Instead, messages of hate, biogtry, self-righteousness and superiority are being taught to children of (some) heterosexual parents, and THIS message will continue to live on throughout generations?
And what's even worse, is when those parents find out their kid is GLBT, they disown them, and that the government won't let us, GLBT people adopt them!!

I would GLADLY take a disowned GLBT child.

does the GLBT community put the two groups together?

Honestly, I'm a FTM transsexual and there's many times that I don't feel that sense of "belonging" with gays and lesbians. I mean I have acclimated to the "straight world" so to speak. I live as a male and I like girls (a LOT). Don't get me wrong, I lived much of my life under the label of "butch lesbian" by others and I'm a huge GLBT activist. But I don't understand why we're grouped into a community where a lot of gays and lesbians don't really accept us, even, when you think about it, it was the transvestites, and transsexuals that helped pave the way during the Stonewall Rebellion to bring about the advancements in the acceptance of gays and lesbians.

so sad? They are a few wonderful people on here that are young enough to be my children & their parents have a problem with who they are. I would be so proud if they were my kids, do you think that their parents will ever realize how lucky they are & do a turn about? It has to be possible right?

(Especially since he was cited for stalking two women, something that Gay men are unlikely to do.)

Sorry if I'm out of it. I just can't understand why that keeps coming up in this forum.

The entire basis of the show is centered around diversity and accepting people, more than anything else, so it makes you wounder...

My friend is gay. He was born in the wrong body and he went to prom last year in a tux and felt uncomfortable. So this year I made him a custom Kimono dress. He felt it would be nice to tell the administration about it rather than show up that night. At first they acted like it would be ok then called him up after the Virginia Tech thing happened and were like "No, don't wear the dree to prom cause next year someone will want to wear a swastica." First off he isn't breaking school dress code. Girls are aloud to wear tuxes to prom. Guys are aloud to wear kilts. Two years ago a guy wore a dress to prom and they let him in at the door but because my friend asked ahead he gets in trouble. They even called his mom and she won't talk to him anymore. He is the saddest I have ever seen him. I don't know what we could do. I'f anyone has any links to some actavist sites that can help me please send them. Should he just go to prom in the dress. Should we start a petition? Prom is April 28! HELP!

I have had a few boyfriends, but I have always had this one crush. I know that he is gay, and at one time there was feeling that were mutual. He moved however and we don't see each other anymore. Right now he is in a relationship, but he hasn't stayed in one to long since our thing. We never actually dated, but there was something there and we both knew it. Should I call him?

Im gay how do i tell my best friend?
i am 16. my friend is 16. he has given me what i think are hints, that he has a crush on me and is gay. first, we were playing with a toy ball and then started wrestling and then i pushed him onto my bed and got behind him and held him and we just layed their. also, he looks into my eyes and smiles, and would be annoyed when i tickled him, but it didnt bother him. we are best friends and i feel like we can be boyfriends. how do i go about making this wish come true?? ....thanks.
