Please don't hate me for asking this and I mean no offense to anyone. I am just a straight guy trying to understand. I do not see what Larry Craig is accused of as a crime. I hear no voices from the gay community commenting on this nationally exposed event. My question is what is wrong in "hitting on" a guy for sex? I can see that having sex in a public restroom is not approprate, but there is no evidence to support that this was his intent. To me it seems as if he was trying to pick up a guy for sex. I can "hit on" someone at the grocery store, the local park, even at church and it is not a crime, so my question is why is it against the law to approach someone in the restroom? I personally would not like to be "hit on" in the restroom but I think it would not be a crime. I would not like to be hit on in the grocery store, park, or church either, but it seems it should not be a crime just to hit someone up for sex in this context. Please share your thoughts or ideas on this.
