Could it be that some of the displays are mere window dressing?

Why in the holy hell would you have to do that? There is so much danger involved. If you're so desperate (not being rude, BTW) why not try a dating agency where you can meet a person face-to-face and can basically gauge what they're like? Good luck!

Right?
There is no right or wrong in "shopping" for a PARTNER.
We find our partners in every place across the globe. The internet has made the world small enough so that many people who would never have found each other could!

As to window dressing... isnt that half the fun? Sometimes thats all some people look for.. something "pretty." Others look for deeper meaning and find it. The internet is a tool to be used with discretion and common sense.

I say long days and pleasant nights to all those who have found their loves on the internet.

You can meet decent people anywhere. A book from waterstones shop is just as good as that from Amazon.

If people who met partners in live situations are all 100% satisfied and there is 0% break ups and divorce then yes. But there are rear ends everywhere and good people use the net too.

to a degree yes. but society has changed so much. less people are marrying young, more people have pressures and longer hours at work resulting in little of a social life. the internet is here and its here to stay. meeting someone on here is becoming normal. you just have to use your judgement just like you would if you met a potential partner in a bar, restaurant or work. when meeting someone off the net, stick within the safety guidelines. it all comes down to common sense. and at the end of the day a couple of dates isn't a commitment to marriage.

Why not, you can get everything else on the net.

well, window dressing may be stretching it, but i think that a background is usually a good indicator of who that person really is...

You gotta do what you gotta do. Personally, I just pay an escort if I want a date. As for sex, well I just don't have sex.
