I don't understand why people make such a big deal out of people being gay. I have two sons. My eldest son who's 13 has a gay friend. He's only 13 too. There isnt anything wrong with being gay. My son is actually bisexual, and i don't have a problem with it. People should be able to love whoever they want. I don't get how these people have problems with this.

I doesn't affect me one way or another. Yes it is a shame that homophobia exists but people are entitled to their own opinions.

The reason why some people are indifferent about these situations is because of the fact that they fear what they do not understand. For example, you see a striped snake in the yard. You have no idea about it and you are unsure whether it is poisonous or not. Are you going to go grab it out of no where and just play with it. I take it as a no. Same thing with understand the gay community. I dislike it very much about the people who have problems with gay people. But I cannot literally hate someone. All I can say is that if someone wishes to try to understand the gay society then it would be a great turn around. But more than likely these people are way to stubborn or the gay community is wrong kinda of slogan was drilled into their heads. Believe me it is confusing and I have had to get use to it ever since I was 15. But hey I'm only 21 so there may not be much knowledge here. but it is just my opinion!

wishing you the best of luck.

There are many reasons that people would provide when asked why they are against homosexuals.

However, its mostly an internal thing. They won't admit the truth about sexual attraction to themselves because they are scared of the consequences. They are scared that life might be more complicated than finding a person of the opposite sex, marrying them, and having kids. Some people are so deeply entrenched in that philosophy that they actually judge their self worth by it.

Its amazing how everybody can be afraid of the group. If everybody is afraid of the response from everybody else, then what problem do we have other than our own vanity?

Yes. I've never understood why some people have such a problem with it. I have alot of gay friends and have gotten into more than one heated argument with people who have called them names or said negative things about them. My siblings and I are all straight and we were lucky enough to have parents who never instilled any homophobic, racist and otherwise bigoted attitudes in any of us. Oh, and someone insinuated that just because you don't have a problem with your son being bisexual that you automatically approve of him having sex. Would they have made that statement if you said your son was straight? I think not.

I can't help what others think to themselves about gay and lesbians. I myself think very nasty thoughts about bigoted, racist people. What bothers me is the fact that so many of them feel almost compelled, or at the least, that it's their mission, to make sure everyone around them or who pays them an iota of time knows what they think. We are all entitled to our opinions but are not entitled to force them upon others.

people have a right to feel how they feel , however backward others might think they are. They don't have the right to infringe on gay rights though.

I think it is ridiculous.
We have so many problems in the world right now, and being gay is most definitely not one of them.

The Bible and insecurities are the reason why people have a problem with it!! I don't understand it either.

Yes, if they make comments that make that apparent. I speak out to them, when it happens. Sometimes there is meaningful dialogue, and sometimes you learn who you want to have around you less.
